  JUCHITÁN, Oaxaca .- A group of 10 Huave citizens from San Francisco del Mar Pueblo Viejo, who profess the Protestant religion of the Jehovah's Witnesses congregation, were imprisoned by the municipal agency's authority for not participating in political life and refusing to Pay a fine of one thousand pesos (US$51) for the same situation.

  The agency's authority, led by Isaías García, imprisoned: Julio Ventura, Hugo Matus, Miguel Nieto, Julio Martínez, Israel Francisco Gómez, Luis Ocampo Vargas, Marcos Cortés, Avisahy Francisco, Daniel Francisco and Leolegario Vargas, all Jehovah's Witnesses , And were threatened with expulsion from the village for not attending the Assemblies of Commissariat of Communal Goods.

  Those detained since March 8, refused to pay the fine for not attending the assembly on March 4, as well as being constantly harassed by the authority, since they do not participate in the life of the assemblies nor vote, Neither by the PRI nor by another party, because their religion does not allow it.

  It comes as her son claimed how "near daily conditioning" by Jehovah's Witnesses drove his mother to "overwrite her own maternal instincts to support her faith".

  In a letter to the Daily, Chris responded to Jehovah's Witness spokesman Rodney Spinks' comments that his mum was not speaking on behalf of the organisation.

  this can only be a good sign.. my old congregation in liverpool has had a lot of money in it's bank account for years.

  for a long, long time (almost 8 years) they've been looking for land to build a new hall.

  the one they're in now is literally falling to bits.

  Note Clarification on the beating of the minor in Morón. Luis Lemagne Milian, only 15 years old is NOT JEHOVAH'S WITNESS, his parents and other relatives if they belong to that religion. It was a writing error in the headline of the news. Nevertheless the weight of the chronicle lies in the brutality of the police.

  Luis Lemagne Millán, 15, was beaten at a police station in Morón and transferred to a Provincial Detention Center in Ciego de Avila. Parents are unaware of the reasons for the arrest.

  A minor has been detained since February 28 at the Provincial Unit for the Detention of Minors in Ciego de Avila, although he is not accused of any charges, according to his father in an interview with Radio Martí.
