Guilt, Regret or Denial

in your time of being a witness, have you witnessed a jw experience death of a loved one due to refusal of a blood transfusion?

i know this is an extremely sensitive subject and can reopen deep emotional wounds.

if you're willing to share, i am interested.

One of my friends died 8 years ago in a car crash. He was 23, they air lifted him to nearest hospital and begged him to take blood, but he refused. I have no idea if a blood transfusion would have saved him, and back then I was full on kool aid drinker.

Now after doing research and reading what the bible actually says, there is no way you can say that God wouldn't allow you to take blood for medical reasons.

I have no feelings of guilt or regret, I'm angry that I was raised in a cult, didn't realize that fact until I was 32, and am now in an unhappy marriage with a full on hard core dub, and whose very much prominent in family will shun me if I leave. So that leaves me stuck at the moment.

I will be attending live again. However my wife gave me so much grief for the annual meeting, I can't update live. Will give a full summary as soon as it's over and I get space from my wife.

at our service meeting we saw the video of a jw explaining his beliefs about 1914.. it was.....well, "underwhelming" does not do it justice.

what is below "underwhelming"?

sir82- I completely agree. I told my wife that the witness in both the two articles we discussed and video come off very condescending. If you look at the first picture what do you see? He is talking to someone in their 50's with a relatively nice house, so he is moderately successful in his career, and you ask a question like he is speaking to a three year old. and when the house holder answers tree, he says that's right! Like that was a tough question that he really had to dwell on.

It's been mentioned before, but they play these convos out like the householder wouldn't have already googled 1914.

They are only targeting weak minded people anymore.

Terry, another great post. Any update on that witness you talked to at the coffee shop?

What I have asked my witnesses, and my elder family members... Is IF Jesus inspected all religions in 1914, refined the bible students between 1914-1918 and declared them the one true religon teaching truth in 1919... why are we not still teaching what they taught then?

This past weekend after the annual meeting, my life long family members in private admitted that they do not think the end is near. They are losing the western world. Caleb videos and a monthly news magazine show is not going to change that.
