Bethel's phone system is set up that if it's a call from inside bethel, the phone rings once, if it is an outside call, the phone rings in a short double ring.
They also have caller ID now, when I call my friends and family up there, they know its me. I would guess that whomever he used to call Morris room or office has already been talked too.

If I had his direct line number, (and I don't think Cedars does) I would release it online so that he would be swarmed with calls from people who are having their lives torn apart because of his policies!
While he did have a good line about Morris being delusional, why not use your time to ask a real question to see if he would answer you?
It did seem like Morris knew who Cedars was and hung up immediately after hearing his name.

iWitnesses?
by cappytan incampaign of hate said this on another thread:.
they are quite clearly trying to copy the business model of apple.
it reminds me of the 2013 agm when they had an apple style technology section, focusing on the new jw apps.

That executive from Apple is a very wealthy brother who lives in Miami right on the ocean. Has a yacht and all.

How could that song possibly accomplish giving a cart a big heart? No one watches that and wants to be friends with the cart, they shove back to the garage at the end.
I still have feelings for wilson the volleyball in Castway, and he didn't get his own music video.

New Avatar - Korah
by cappytan ini decided to update my avatar.. since the society says that disagreeing or speaking against the governing body is like korah challenging moses, i decided korah would be a fitting avatar!.
what do you think?.
by the way, if you didn't realize this was korah or don't know where this came from, it's from one of the new "comic book" bible stories..

I always like to point out that the current WT teaching is that Korah will be resurrected.
So both Moses and Korah died in the Wilderness, neither made it to the promised land, and both are in line for a resurrection.
Being associated with Korah isn't so bad.

An email from a Jw "friend" to me (accusing me of apostasy) a few months back.
by objectivetruth ini was going through old email and i came across the below email from a former acquaintance of mine who is a jw.
when we were both jw's, we were both pretty liberal in our beliefs.
its quite interesting how cognitive dissonance kicks in, for many & not too much for others.

My biggest frustratation is when they say "How do you know you have the truth?"
By us pointing out Watchtower doesn't have truth should be satisfactory. I haven't seen anyone on here claim we know the full truth about the bible. No one does. But We do point out and prove the Watchtower does not have the truth.

Why must we APPLY for everything?
by Tech49 ini was thinking about this today, after seeing another thread on the subject of serving in israel, of all places.
there have been many comments on the recent thread, and the ones a little older, about how utterly ridiculous that premise is.. the bigger question is why do i have to apply?
permission?

I got grief for going to my families International this summer. I live away from my family, all my family, (including bethelites, and missionaries) were going to be together at the convention. I just went. Peoplet asked why I didn't apply, I said, "We invited the public to come to all of the conventions, how is the public welcome, but I am not!
No witness ever responded to that!

There were a lot of paragrapgh's in that lesson that had zero cited scrpitures. The lesson concluded with something about after Armageddon we will restore the Earth to paradise forever, NO scriptures are cited! I asked my wife, "If that is our hope, and clearly identified in the bible, why are there absolutely 0 scriptures cited?"
The public talked at my hall commented on the wastefullness and short sightedness of building your dream house now, sense it will be destroyed at God's day. I asked my wife, "then why are we building Warwick?!"
They have mastered the art of doublespeak

Guilt, Regret or Denial
by game1914over inin your time of being a witness, have you witnessed a jw experience death of a loved one due to refusal of a blood transfusion?
i know this is an extremely sensitive subject and can reopen deep emotional wounds.
if you're willing to share, i am interested.

One of my friends died 8 years ago in a car crash. He was 23, they air lifted him to nearest hospital and begged him to take blood, but he refused. I have no idea if a blood transfusion would have saved him, and back then I was full on kool aid drinker.
Now after doing research and reading what the bible actually says, there is no way you can say that God wouldn't allow you to take blood for medical reasons.
I have no feelings of guilt or regret, I'm angry that I was raised in a cult, didn't realize that fact until I was 32, and am now in an unhappy marriage with a full on hard core dub, and whose very much prominent in family will shun me if I leave. So that leaves me stuck at the moment.
