An apologist or two were defending the inaction of elders - comparing it to attorney/client privilege.
Commonwealth countries do not have the same blanket coverage that is appealed to by WTS.

Do I need to report child abuse and neglect?
Yes. Everyone has a duty to report child abuse and neglect under Canadian child welfare laws. Professionals who work with children and youth have an added responsibility to report.
You are obliged to report child maltreatment if you know or suspect it is occurring. This is called the 'duty to report'. Every person in Canada has the duty to report known or suspected child maltreatment by law.
For further information, please see the Centre of Excellence for Child Welfare's series of information sheets on provincial/territorial child welfare systems. Each sheet has a section on child welfare law, including the duty to report child maltreatment. Click here to view.
Who do I call if I suspect child abuse or neglect?
Known Known or suspected abuse or neglect of a child must be reported to:
- local child welfare services (e.g., children’s aid society or child and family services agency), or
- provincial/territorial social service ministries or departments, or
- local police

JWs and the making of many books

i just never could keep up with all the jw reading material.
as a zealous jw, it was my desire to read every word published by the org, but i just couldn't do it.

Then the final insult was the absolute dumbing down of all material that followed. The Watchtower now is an absolute joke. What isnt written at the level of a small child is just copy/paste from other literature with a "the" taken out or a "as we see" inserted.
If you analyze the growth in the past, it came from people that were familiar with the Bible.
All of the new growth is from lands extremely unfamiliar with the Bible, and with economic uncertainty or stress - hence, the simple desire to see everything end, and the new world to begin.

by inkling inas far as i know, the excellent danish film "to verdener" .
("worlds apart") is still not available for purchase on.
dvd in the us.. (anyone know otherwise?).

The new doomsday mag

where does the bible say that the world will be so literally destroyed like that?.
1. i believe one may think of the verse in zechariah or zephaniah about the dead to your right and left- however was regarding jerusalem.. 2. peter speaks of a new heavens and earth where the elements being intensely hot will melt.
