Watch Tower Society owns web domains: www.MT2414.com and www.PS8318.com
by Gilgamesh in(my apologies if this was already discussed somewhere else.).
i noticed that the domain www.mt2414.com was taken, and when i tested it, it was a mirror of the log in portion of the www.jw.org site, where you can look up assemblies, kingdom halls, and make either one time or recurring donations.
so i created an account there (you can use fake form information as long as it's a real email address for email verification).

Jehovah's people are the happiest people on earth!
by Coded Logic inso this afternoon my roommate and i decided to go grab some dinner from the local chipotle and, as we live only a short distance from the franchise, we decided it was a good idea to walk.
little did i know that the j-dubs district convention here in sacramento was just getting out (the auditorium is literally smack in the middle of downtown and its attendees have to park in garages scattered a couple blocks away in every direction) so men in cheap suits and women in unflattering dress' were walking all over the place as though someone had antagonized their ungodly ant hill.
and, for sacramento, this of course is the complete opposite of the normative - that is to say, our streets are usually filled with well dressed, immaculately groomed, 'i know exactly where i'm going' government officials that monopolize the state capitol m-f. .

“your Father knows what you need before you ask him” (Mathew 6:8)
Also, whatever it is that YOU ask in my name, I will do this, in order that the Father may be glorified in connection with the Son. If YOU ask anything in my name, I will do it.
And, then the caveat:
And this is the confidence that we have toward him, that, no matter what it is that we ask according to his will, he hears us.
Tsk, tsk - wasn't God's will.

My yoke is easy and my burden is light, unless you're a JW than you will have many strange complicated rules
by adjusted knowledge inthere is this jw husband and wife i knew from the 80's when i was a child.
they got a divorce a few years ago and never remarried.
they are older now and unable to afford to live on their own.

Saw a similar post.
Very bizarre thinking - not "scripturally" divorced, but must remain "scripturally" apart.
What an f'd up bunch.

I also liked the United in Worship book.
(The spine of that book is only too true in French, Spanish, etc.)

Whats the difference between a Zombie and a Jehovah`s witness?
A Jehovah`s Witness has a sense of humour. Umm, wait.
A Jehovah`s Witness works hard and contributes to society. Umm, wait.
A Jehovah`s Witness is sensually attractive. Umm, wait.
A Jehovah`s Witness is able to think for himself. Umm, wait.
A Jehovah`s Witness cares about this life. Umm, wait.
A Jehovah`s Witness has intelligent, inspirational leadership. Umm, wait.
A Jehovah`s Witness dresses in a contemporary manner. Umm, wait.
A Jehovah`s Witness is capable of having a rational conversation. Umm, wait.
A Jehovah`s Witness does not want to infect you with the same virus that made him what he is. Umm, wait.
Okay, I give up. What is the difference?

The Org is terrified of apostates
by SecretSlaveClass ini knew apostasy was a serious concern for the org, but until i watched this video, i had no idea how afraid they actually were.
all this guy wants is to do is not turn in his fs hours and immediately they (elders) set about drilling him about who are what influenced his decision, as if he was incapable of making his own (which as the elders confirm, in the org is highly discouraged).
they are convinced he has been communicating with apostates or visiting apostate web sites.

Are There Good People Out There?
by LaurenM ineven though i'm no longer mentally a jw (i still technically am) i do recognize that there are some benefits to being raised one.
for example, the first (and only so far) wordly guy i was involved with had to smoke weed every day and got drunk all the time and that was his idea of fun.
i couldn't help but feel bad for him.

There are a handful of people that have truly benefited by becoming a Dub.
However, they could have joined any other high-control group, including the army, and likely received the same benefit.
There are A LOT of decent people who are not Dubs.

Canadian branch getting rid of their trucks and drivers
by wannaexit ina recent letter to the elders outlined the new arrangement for delivering literature to the congregations.
the canadian branch will be downsizing by eliminating drivers and trucks and utilizing commercial carriers to bring the boxes of monthly literature .
more outsourcing and more lay offs.. the funny thing about it is that they want to have the literature delivered to various private homes of the rank and file rather than have the literature delivered to the kingdom hall.

They spent a fair bit to enable printing in Canada.
Can't see it as being any cheaper elsewhere.
