  so i just took a look at this and here is the dilemma:.

  where does the bible say that the world will be so literally destroyed like that?.

  1. i believe one may think of the verse in zechariah or zephaniah about the dead to your right and left- however was regarding jerusalem.. 2. peter speaks of a new heavens and earth where the elements being intensely hot will melt.

  Do you feel bad throwing away literature?

  so do you feel bad throwing away your old literature?.

  what about your old song book or bible from your early days in the org?.

  if so, is it because of sentimentality, monetary cost or because it might be 'sacred' ?.

  I always kept placement magazines - at one point had probably 5 feet of them. It was always hard to know what to do with them

  Some were simply unplaceable, even when mix and matching a placeable Awake with an unplaceable WT, etc.

  Eventually, they all went to recycling.

  My only regret is that I distinctly remember having a number ( 5 - 7 ) of the Jan. 1, 1989 WT's.

  Would love to have kept those babies.

  Not sure if this has been pointed out before, but just skimmed through the ambiguous article in the 1991 Awake that WTS used to ensure its admittance as an NGO.

  I cannot recall any other time when a series of 3 articles did not contain ONE SINGLE scripture.

  Then they bound all of the individual volumes to make one fat bible. It had cross references too. Down the middle. They dumped those with the release of the more manageable sized complete bible after that. It was many years till they included cross references again.

  This puppy here.

  It was quite an accomplishment - I do not know why they stopped producing them, and stuck with "the green Bible." (Cost, I'm guessing.)

  Living in the era of "Generation Me"

  this really got to me today at the wt study.. i am not ashamed to admit, i am part of that "generation".. you get one role of the dice in this life, you got to take what you can now, in order to have a good quality life later.. i agree, we need to help and show love to our fellow man.

  but, not when this becomes the priority above our own needs, wants and aspirations.. welcome to "generation me" wt, this is my time.. peace out..

  They are, of course, recycling an old phrase that someone else invented.

  Including a phrase about the "older generation" that they are "not with it."

  Haven't heard that expression in about 20 years.

  oh my god!.

  it is currently almost midnight where i live and i have now been spammed 3 times in a row by an unknown number.

  first my home phone and then my cell phone.

  For aeons, I have had 2 "land-lines" (not really land-lines, as they are VOIP phones - dirt-cheap). One is publicized, the other is unlisted.

  All of the calls from the listed number go to voicemail. (This includes banks, employers, businesses, etc.)
  

  Only very trusted people have the unlisted number.

  Even fewer have my cellphone,

  I was always reticent to complete the disaster relief form (I never did turn one in), as it is just another harvesting method of the borg.

  If anything is severely compromised, time for a new number (same with email.).
