after a few months of lurking on this site, i've decided to take the plunge...i don't really care so much about introducing myself, but somehow there is some relief in the thought of getting my little story out there, just getting it out of my system.

In Mr. Nicholson's piece, he refers often to Rick Pain.

Given JWdaughter's post and Rick Pain's statement, I can see where WTS provides help to a minute fraction of society.
That is, to those who are messed up, with no structure in their lives, etc.

So, does the WTS BS benefit certain people?
It does.

For every one benefited, does this justify WTS cruelty to multiple others harmed?

Looking Back In Retrospect To 1975...

greetings, folks: so, it's been 40 years since 1975. and, if you were actively involved with the witnesses back then, the mindset of many was, that by early autumn of 1975, it would mark the anniversary of 6000 years of human existence.

and, the hope was then, that it would mark the start of the 1000-year of christ, from the heavenly realm.

but, looking back now, 40 years ago, in june of 1975, only 3 more months remained until early autumn.

The main JW who told my dad that, the most prominent one in my area, died about twelve years ago as a broken old man shuffling his feet in old bedroom slippers in a dreary nursing home.

In most respects, the WT conglomerate is no different than any other conglomerate.

Anyone who has worked at whatever institution for whatever number of years, is completely irrelevant.

This reaches into many levels of politics as well, except for, possibly, US presidents.

One of Canada's most popular premiers was Ralph Klein. Once Ralph stepped down, he was not sought out.

Unless you're Steve Jobs, Bill Gates, etc., once you quit your job, move congos, etc. you become a nobody.

For Dubs, this extends to everyone, no matter their long-held RANK.

(Probably with Dubs, the only difference is that there is no pension. The "luckier" ex-missionaries and CO's get to be given institutional care at a Bethel - yee-haw.)

looks like the faithful jws are back in the basement, the oct 15th wt has this image on page 9. but now the lights have been turned out!

i guess the persecution is really kicking in if the electric company has shut off their electricity, or the jws are really, really paranoid that the government is gonna get them if they have the lights on!.

only one guy is smart enough to use his tablet (far right), the rest of the jws are old school, using a lantern to read their bibles in the dark!

Usually, Borg photos have the detail of everyone being on the same page.

Br. Black is in the Pentateuch.

Br. White is in the prophets.

Br. Asian is in the Greek scriptures.

Why is the Governing Body pushing the very young(5-12 year old) into getting baptized into subservience to the Corporation?

i think a very simple reason may be because the very young are pretty much the only ones naive enough to take the plunge these days.

with the internet available to inform people about the deceptive lies printed by the wt corporation it seems that they are getting their member from the less informed population like the elderly and the very young.

they/gb hate higher education because they loose members who get one and so they are focusing on those that are dumb enough to believe their boogie man bull shit about jehovah choosing their corporation and anybody not a part of it he will destroyed at armageddon.. also we need to consider that they view these young people as a potential free labor source so the sooner you get them hooked into baptism with the threat of disfellowshipping you can get more free labor out of them..

- what is the rate of loss of unbaptized teens?

- what is the rate of loss of baptized teens?

Obviously, the former is higher than the latter.

Conclusion - get 'em dunked no matter what.

A superficial Dub is better than a non-Dub.

If this is really during a time of societal collapse I sure hope they stocked knives, kevlar, Kalashnikovs with plently 5.56 rounds, pepper spray, cutlasses, .38 revolvers, Colt 45s, and Winchester rifles for close ranged door to door urban battles when Jehovah just won't strike dead those attacking looters and gang rapists because he doesn't exist

Just find out where all the Mormons live - they are mandated to have a minimum survival kit.
