My father, who was college educated, and became a dub after, didn't make us go to school hardly at all. We missed so much school, it was almost pointless to continue once we reached high school. His reasoning was that Armaggedon was right around the corner, so why waste time in school when there was no future? He never encouraged college, and my sister was the only one so far who actually went all four years of high school. I have a GED, and my little brother now has to try and go to high school for the first time at 18. I hope that I can get him away from the cult and stick him in college before it's too late!!!

The Society is gonna let you off your homework kids!
by nicolaou infrom the current (uk) edition of 'our kingdom ministry'.
take a close look at paragraph 4. am i the only one who can see the old pattern of the 1980's re-emerging?
i had thought that the watchtower had begun to take a more reasonable approach to the secular education of it's members children yet here they are again in 2004 willing to jeopardise the education these young people receive for the sake of indoctrination and control.. .

my brothers 80's band, hahahahha!
by maybesbabies inok, just one more family item, and i'm done.
one of my older brothers had a band in the 80's called the unforgiven, and they made a mild stir in their time, before falling off the charts completely.
after much searching, i have actually found a site that perserves some of their music!!!!

What does MATURITY mean to you?
by gumby inin another thread, the subject came up concerning dubs and their maturity level.
the question was posed as to what members on this board would consider the word maturity to mean.
so....what does maturity mean to you?.

It means taking care of yourself independently, without the assistance of another, both physically and emotionally. Leastwise, that's what it means to me. I can still fingerpaint, stick my tongue out at people on the bus, and eat cheerios from a little plastic bag, as long as I'm taking care of myself!

( P.S. when you say C., are you talking about my dad? He's too old to know what would be good or not!)

Ok, just one more family item, and I'm done. One of my older brothers had a band in the 80's called the Unforgiven, and they made a mild stir in their time, before falling off the charts completely. After much searching, I have actually found a site that perserves some of their music!!!! Give 'em a listen!
