Quick Introduction
by Nocturne ini've been lurking here for a few months now, and i've been wanting to post for awhile now but i've never really been up to it.
i first stumbled upon the information about the wtbts being an ngo for 10 years in september, and ever since i've been finding out about all the other things the society has been up to.
as of now, i'm still going to the meetings, but now my eyes have been truly opened, and i can see things in a whole new perspective, and it's amazing the deception that's going on in the organization.

The Red Tent
by GinnyTosken inlong before i started on the mental road toward xjwism, soft-voiced misgivings whispered to me as i read bible stories.
why did jehovah like abel's offering better than cain's?
wasn't it cruel of abraham to banish hagar and ishmael?

and then I would picture Shechem 'strumming on the old banjo.'

Home school
by Globetrotter inmy son told me the other day that he and his sister are just about the only kids at the kh their age that go to public/private schools.
almost all the other kids are home-schooled.
i was rather shocked.

Well Globetrotter, my little brother, who just turned 18, has been homeschooled for quite some time by my JW father. I don't know about the educational aspect, but I can tell you that he is socially lacking, and is terrified of the outside world. He's basically been kept inside for the majority of his life now, and does not really know how to communicate or interact with other people. I do know that he didn't make the requirements for highschool graduation, so I do believe that his education has been some what lacking.

What Did you Plan On Doing In The New System?
by minimus inevery child and bible student was told about how wonderful the "new system" was going to be.
"and what animal do you want to have in the new system?
"......that was a very typical question.

That was my first snag with the teachings...I knew, from experience as a kid in a very strict home, that I was bound to mess up at some point, and that perfection just didn't allow for that...I guess I would walk on eggshells until I did/said/thought something that would end it all. "Ooops, Badger didn't listen,
Badger hit the nail on the head!! I was terrified of the new system, because I just knew I was going to screw up somehow!!! BTW, how the heck are you Badger?
