mothers day can bring up many issues for some of us.

for some their mothers have passed away and the opportunity to say i love you in person is forever lost.

for others our mothers are lost to the borg.

My mother passed away Sept. 01, 1994

Mama,

I wish you hadn't had such a hard life, and that you hadn't died thinking Jehovah didn't love just because a brainwashed cult told you so. You were harsh sometimes, and you were difficult to live with, but you were always my mama. We loved you for all you sacrificed for us, and we all walked through hell together. I wish I could have told you everything before you died, rather than being filled with anger over you leaving us. You wouldn't have stumbled us, we didn't care about the religion at that point. If only you had come back sooner, we could have gotten you help. You didn't have to die, and remember it was not Jehovah who didn't love you, it was the WTBTS. They will rot in hell mama, and you will be loved forever.

OMG, Corvin, thanks for posting those pics! I was homeless in SD, lived in the Gas Lamp District 'til I got on my feet. Those pictures bring back so many memories! I used to go to Balboa Park every day, since they had a different free event for each day of the week. Thank you so much, you made my day!

WAKE ME UP PLEASE

i just didn't get the quality of sleep last night i should have (nor the hours either) and today i am just dying.. .

driving to work this morning i had to be so careful to stay awake, so as not to have an accident.. .

and doing that for what took today an hour and 45 minutes to get here was toooooo long.. .

I hear ya Sassy! I've been working 10-12 hour days, getting up at 5 and getting to bed around 12. What seems to work for me is to go for a little walk when I'm on break, sometimes a good dose of sunshine and fresh air just does the trick. Maybe roll your windows all the way down when driving, and the annoyance of trying to keep your hair out of your face will help Be safe love!

Why don't JWs observe Kosher laws? or Should JWs eat that juicy steak?

according to ajwrb.com, even a thorough bleeding of a slaughtered animal leaves as much as 50% of its blood in the flesh.... since jws are so emphatic about not "taking in blood" when it comes to blood transfusions, what is their reasoning for not observing kosher laws, at least with regard to the draining of the blood?

do most jws feel conflicted over eating a juicy and bloody rare steak?

is there any official prohibition against this?

Good point MJ, my parents never let us eat any meat that was not cooked until barely recognizable. I had my first steak medium rare only a couple of years ago.
