it has something to do with the demons.

another example is that it is considered satanic if a man took his hat off for a lady!

jehovah said that no man can see god and live, and here at least 70 people saw jehovah standing on a bright blue pavement.

24 then the lord said to moses, come up to the lord , you and aaron, nadab and abihu, and seventy of the elders of israel.

This text is from the 'Elohist' and the text is better translated: "They saw the El of Contended with El."

In the Elohist's writings El (God) walks around, sends dreams, desires sacrifices. etc

Life elsewhere

i of course grew up with star wars in ther 80s and the 3 star treks runing at once in the 90s' so shows depicting aliens never bothered me.. however in 95 i read 'hyperspace' by micheo kuku.

my dad picked it up and scanned it saying: "i see no reason jehovah didn't create 2 dimentional creatures we cant see.

I did too however in a different way. At the time after wading the book god's miracles seemed to make sense as Jehovah was in the highest dimention and could change anything here.

However the book is not the point of this topic.

My dad believes Jehovah made many animals on many planets even 2 dimentional. At the time I had no problen with this however ittelegent human-like creature were a no as 'Jesus died once for all time'

Now of course I am open to anything. I think this universe contain much life like our and much beyond our understanding.

If those so-called NASA scientist would actually explore Mars or the Moon personally it would not surpirse me to find single-celled life (likely origianlly from earth) living their evolved to surive there. This would end JWS as we know it as they would be proven liars.

My Book of Bible Stories- Sex and Violence

on a previous post on the bible's sex-violence several mentioned children and the yellow book (1978 version).

i will compile a list here.. one only needs to go to story 6 to find a man smashing his brothers skull in and picture of his brother's blood on the ground.

the very next story 7 has pictures of violence, clut worship, drunkeness, (unimplied sex).. the next story 8 shows a giant beating a person the death while holding them with one hand.

Two stories later in the Tower of Babel scene if you look on the left of the tower a man is thrown off. 12

Story 14 show Abraham about to kill Isaac. 15 Genocide at Sodom. Lot's wife is Salt.

Story 18 introduces polygomy

Story 20 has scantly clad womone and a man looking at a woman about to rape her.

Story 21 had a boy being thrown in a well.

Srory 24 Siblings playing cruel tricks on brothers

Story 26 has Job with what looks like leeches on his skin and his marriage problems

27 People are beaten

28 Baby discarded

29 Man hunted with spears

30 Forest fire... sorry that funny lol

American English Standards Manual, 9/98 ¡leaked!

each language has its own principles and characteristics to which to conform.

This is sad the WT stoops this low in translation

Every text MUST be prepared in english. This means:

If i'm in India and speak Punjabi and get a NWT (Not sure if it's in that langauge yet) it would be translated from english and NOT from Hebrew, Aramaic and Greek. Does this sound like good translation?

Ex:

I want to read Illiad (Homer). I'm in China and by a chinese copy. However it have been translated from an english version. This means it's two translations away from the orginal classical Greek.

What is the "new" date JWs are "hinting" at for Armaggeddon?

after the 1975 "we did not say point blank armaggeddon was coming we only suggested it might come" fiasco what is the new date jws are "hinting" at for armaggeddon?

i know now they do not point to any specific date but hint that maybe it might occur such as before 2000 the preaching work will be finished.

this is a suggestion not a prediction so they can wiggle out of this one.

StAnn: Oh yes. I recnt WT from last year has the anoited being taken to heaven before armagedden. (This same article also placed the Governing Body as being the faithful and discreet slave... not the anoited.

Recently (unless you in the Eastern hemesphere) the Regional Convention saw a release of a Book call God's Kingdom Rules which futher charts and shows the new 'rapture' idea.

I know what date they WILL pick, if they pick any. 2034.

Let's face it this religion will not surive betond that year anyway.

How will they get that year?

120 years in Gen 6:3. So 1914+120=2034.

Also if Jesus dies in 33CE (As WT teaches) Then Hosea 6:2 will be used to teach the two days being 2000 years and on the third day (2033) he will raise them (the anoited) and they will live in his sight...etc Remember the WT teaches a rapture prior to Armagedden now. So:

2033 'Rapture of the anoited' and 2034 for Armagedden.

That is assuming the WT will pick another date.

I don't care I'm an atheist.

this thread isn't meant to go into discussing how deceptive the society has been over the translation of this passage of scripture as that has been done many times on here.

what i want to know is this - the society has inserted the word other in the collosions verses and the one in philippians (above every (other) name).

they've done this for doctrinal matters.

Doug i go a step futher I don't think any of Paul's letters were finalized until Marcion. If and pieces of it existed in the first century it was likely written by Polycarp. (BTW the Laodician letter is Ephesians. To the Ephesians is not to orginal titlw and Marcion had it listed at to the Laodicians.)

hello everyone..... i've been thinking a lot lately, when i have a chance to be alone my mind immediately comes to the topic at hand-- i don't want to die.

what would happen to my precious little girls?

When I discovered for myself god was not real I was horrified at my own mortallity for months.

I found confort in two places:

1. Just because their is no god does NOT mean there is nothing after death. Buddists have no problem

2. Richard Dawkins mad an interesting comment. "When I die I will be like before I was born. Are you scared of the time before you were born when your didn;t exist??? Of course not. Why be scared of the opposite?"

Better to pass yourself as in your knowledge to your children and let them go ahead with your legacy.

Demons - Possession - Dreams & Witnesses

i would like to get some opinions from you all.. .

have you known a lot of witnesses that have dealt with demon issues?

have you personally dealt with problems with demons?

I will explain this if I can:

1. When a person enters REM sleep their body will normally paralyze to prevent acting out dreams. This starts at the beginning of the dream phase and is followed by random images and sounds then a dream.

2. If you wake up from a dream very quickly or you are dreaming and know its a dream and then wake up it is possible (probable in the later case) to wake up still in Paralysis.

3. If you wake up in this state it is likely one of the scariest thing s person can experiance. Sounds, images manifesting themself on you chest, bedorom etc Again all part of dream imagry. Of course which you are seeing all this... you can't move... other then you breathing and eyes.

4. Because you have been taught of demons etc... if you end up so scared in this state what images will manifest themselves? Make-Believe demons on your chest. Likely.

I don;t belive in demons. Demons are made by REM sleep issuses

BTW

If you ever end up in Sleep paralysis awake I suggest:

1. Close your eyes and pick an image that flashes and go bak into a dream... fully aware and concious in the dream... Youre GOD in there.

2. Breathe deep, shallow, deep, deep, shallow..... breathe in an ireggular pattern so your subcouncious realizes you are awake. In 10-15 second thr Paralysis will end.
