  Any atheists here? Have you come to terms with your new reality?

  alone, without my safety net of "god" being there to remember me when i die.

  after much consideration, examining science, history and using logic, i have come to the conclusion that there is no "god" at least certainly no loving, personal "god.

  To answer the original question.... Once I found out that YHWH was just another good and the bible jewish propaganda I realized I would die and their would be no resurrection..... It was shocking, cruel and disturbing for over 5 years.... Now however although i am not fully over it I have found comfort in two things...

  1. The particles in our body are in a state of flux... if the multiverse theory is true (and it looks likely) then although i die here I may no die somewhere else that same day...

  2. The goal of humanity as far as I can see is to leave a the world a slightly better place then how you found it... not hard and the fact that you are asking the question ou have in this topic shows you are capable of that.

  Jesus in the old testament

  about two years ago i was challenged by a householder to do the research on the subject.

  of course thinking it was all bunk i decided to take a look off the reservation.

  much to my surprise a lot of started to make sense and i started to understand the connections between the old and new testament .

  So far as Ive been told in ther 80s and 90s JW always taught Jesus was in Genesis 18, 32, (As 'the angel representing Jehovah and fighting Jacob. Exodus 3, 23 (As the angel in the bush and the one whsose name Jehovah was in. Numbers 22 was speculated as to wether Jesus was the one stopping Balaam. Joshua 5 was Jesus in every occurance I remember when this was talked about. Judges 6 and 13 were speculated but never confirmed as far as I know. I do know an elder once said that Jesus was the angel in Hezkiahs time who killed 185000 Assyrians.

  Beards

  i have a beard.

  i spend a month on vacation with no worry from the congregation overseas of course.

  i grew a full beard now and with glasses i finally have posted my picture on facebook og me... next to half life 2 cover showing i look like gordan freeman lol.

  I'm still being chased by the school overseer for bible readings so no problem after last weeks wt. ( I only attend maybe 1/3 meetings. Reported no time last month by putting 0 on the time report. Another guy with a recent beard gave a reading last week.

  i was really puzzled when i opened this edition of the wt magazine at the above “study”.

  what on earth has this picture at the top of page 13 got to do with christian watchfulness?

  i wasn’t making a connection at all.

  Humans ancestors likely went through a near aquatic phase about 2-3 million years ago.

  We have streamlined hair, descended lyrax, voluntary breathing, extra fat etc

  A few months ago I went to an elder I knew well and told him: 'I have doubts.."

  I explained things from an agnostic perspective that evolution explains our origins will certainty and I could find no proof for the bible's claims.

  He of course was disturbed but said when a more knowledgeable elder could be find they would help restore my faith.... so far none have... The only thing he has suggested is to watch JW broadcasting of 'Origins of Life'... I have.... I find those 'scientists' disturbing ....

  BUT WE KNOW IT WAS FABRICATED AND QUOTE MINED... ONCE I FOUND OUT WHATEVER HORRIFIC CONCLUSIONS I FOUND OUT IT WAS FACTUAL NOT FABRICATED!

  Many JWS like to leave the GB to follow Jesus.. OMG How about this YOU ARE THE PROBLEM!!!

  & dudes or one dude that never existed... HMMM... <<< Stop this NOW and stop JW elders assuming that you have joined a false religion...

  My elders know I'm agnostic (atheist but they dont know) they ignore me... But no YOU>>> follow WEEZUS .. I will never respect you

  we like to think we are logical and have good reasons for for our beliefs.

  no more so than when it comes to our reasons for rejecting the truth claims of jws.

  we reject their version of history, such as the date of the fall of jerusalem, because it doesn't agree with the historical evidence.

  The problem of sex (or why I'm not an atheist)

  as i write this under the shadow of the walls of saint jorge's castle in lisbon, two very bored jws are standing just five metres away from me with a literature cart .... in my journey away from jwism i accepted evolution as a fact.

  i also became anti-religion, agnostic and apatheist.

  and, while i lean towards the persuasion of the atheist arguments, there are a few reasons that make it difficult for me to completely discard the notion of an intelligent origin of life.

  Eden... let me help you.... Nothing is more horrific to me then an ex JW that chooses Christianity... in my sight they have traded 7 existing men for one guy that might not have lived ,,, I mean that is sick

  You have followed evidence much as I have but have not the same way.. when I saw evolution was true I also took an agnostic approach... I felt it reasonable.... However over time I learned it wasn't ...

  Thus 2 years ago I became an atheist.... However that being said does not mean i;'m not spiritual... i need to understand the universe same as you... science will provide and answer even if not in our lifetime...

  No asexual reproduction stems from eucriotic cells and is so far in the past it is not worth arguing about
