  About Human Birth- (Which I've just seen) First Child today

  i have seen many witnesses with 4,5,6,7 kids.

  no problem with that.

  they are mostly loving families but today i experianced the birth of my son.. the emotions of my wife... the pain... the fear... the hope combined with the joy of the birth and seeing my wife reaction when she held the baby was well balanced.. .

  Facing old age

  having just past 50 i have been reflecting on my childhood with the witnesses.

  the people i grew up with who are the same age with elderly parents some still alive.

  i tend to have a positive attitude but i realise that for me this is it.

  You will all laugh. Im 35. I have acepted that the following years are DOWN and not UP lol.

  However I will never let my son belive this. In fact I DO plan to read some parts of the book of bibles stories. With Mother goose too..

  Fake friends and other things that annoy me about the Kingdom Hall

  it was easy to figure people out.

  as long as you got out in service and put money in the money box people will pretend to be your "friend".. but let's be honest is most of business associates.

  they are your friends as long as you are active doing the watchtower bidding.. and then let's talk about the lack of hot women.

  I know one guy my age. 36. almost... An elders son. Becam an MS at 18. Dated a 16 year old sister unofficailly.... they never had sex... I don't belive it!

  Later he met a 19 year old girl elder;s daughter and got her pregnant. He was of course simple removed of being an MS but it broke his pride and to be honest he in a good father of 2 now.

  The ones I hate are pioneers who never married and lived everywhere on assignment and tell me what I SHOULD BE DOING! In the meantime their parents are int he 80's with nor grandkids cause their sacred kids became pioneers.

  Even when I Belived I never agreeed this this and would then constanly show them scriptures in Geneis to prove they should LIVE

  Thank you. I hope all turns out well. I am raising us agnostic or skeptic.. she is sill a jw but is inactive and after today this will break her. There were 6 phone call to the hospital from the local elder asking if we needed asstince with blood.

  I will decided that I know more of medicine on wikepedia then he does in 30 years of truck driving lol

  Coping with becoming an atheist?

  its been a very eye opening experience for me to find out that the god of the bible is as real as thor or ra.

  i still believe a higher power created life but can see now how it doesn't really care about us.

  so with this in mind realizing one has only 70-80 years to live and that may be just it, is very stunning..

  Actually it is more then stunning. I was an agnostic at first then took the athiest stance and while I haven't offiaclailly joined a religion I am spritual as in I belive in Chi etc and study Buddist texts .. even Proverbs in the bible is useful.

  As an athiest I have more respect for the bible as a text then a beliver ever does of it as scripture.

  As for life after death. I believe int he mutliverse and if you read recent threads they that explained many of my beliefs in life after death so I need not comment. However.. just in case... if life ends in nothingnes... how is it bad.. you won't know it lol

  But I thought of something else as I reflect on today.

  Evolution vs Creation. How could a normal thinking person witness this and believe there is a loving god in the heavens,

  Objections:

  1. We are imperfect- Then God F***ed up

  2. Adam and Eve sin and God curses Eve with birth pangs.- Then why worship a sick violent, horrifing diety like that??? << What I saw today was not the result of a loving god.

  3. Well the ends fit the means.... - Well of course the joy of a child does overshowdow the pan in the end but that changes nothing about the birth!

  4. Humans are special..- Wrong. Most mamals deliver the same way. The difference is the Humans, Chimpanzees, Elephants and Dolphins are self concious and can retain an idea about the pain. This is not a good argument for a creator since humans in this case are almost exactly like our cousins.

  5. Well modern technology causes more suffering.... Granted to as slight degree. (Warning the following comments are 18+ rated) My wife ended up having a vacuum assited delivery. While this is of course not overly bad it was very painful since I observed the cup was bigger then the baby's head and did more tearing. So I will grant this argument however.,,,

  ...Moratlity of infants in Canada in the 21st century is very very high. Could that same be said 1000 years ago in France, Russia or Egypt? No. It can't. While I totaly respect a midwife option I would do it only with the understanding that if something happens we go to emergency in the hospital if something happens... Being my wif'es first baby this was wiser do at a hospital for us. BTW midwives will also use Vacuum too.

  In conclusion instead of giving me any faith in Jehovah this experiance, while giving me new spirituality, does very much prove evolution by natural selection as truth.

  in reality their argument had an extreme ignorance of hinduism and a poor knowledge of modern langauge (avatar means something else nowadays.... ).

  but anyway when i was growing up my parents recorded the 4 supermen movies on to video tape as they were played on tv.

  The stark contrast between Science and Christianity says it all.

  jesus prayed that all his followers be united as one.

  but we see christianity divided into thousands of denominations.

  this division is partly due to the fact that the book that christianity claims is the truth, the inspired word of a supremely wise god, was not written in a sufficiently unambiguous manner as to make its one true meaning indisputably clear throughout.. by contrast take a field of science - say physics.

  Enstein could never agree about entanglement for instance

  Ah I forgot about Titanic... It was an older brother (Born in 1920) that gave that part and said he had no idea why anyone wanted to watch a movie where you know the ending lol.... Of course this same brother condemned brothers for wearing blue jeans at home saying they should "look good for Jehovah and wear a suit ALL THE TIME!"
