Do JW get counseled for buying a home?
by thedepressedsoul ini was curious, i couldn't find much on it.
if anything, there are a few articles that give advice on how to properly buy a home, mortgage, good location etc... .
do you know if the elders can counsel on this matter or remove privileges over it?

who cares what they think. give them power and there thoughts mean something. give them no power and they are like a fart in the wind.

Ok, lets put this into perspective.
we live on a dynamic planet, right???? mostly made of water....correct?
what happens when you have water and rocks, dirt spinning at a high speed 24/7.
of course things are going to move. this movement could also be called earth quakes. the tectonic plates are always moving....they have been since the beginning of time and will always move.
so yes, don't thing to much about it. there has always been earth quakes and will always be earth quakes...big and small. just worry about living a good life and keep it in perspective.

by goingthruthemotions inso thinking back about the times when someone has asked my wife what religion she is.

So thinking back about the times when someone has asked my wife what religion she is. She sheepishly and seems almost embarrassed to say she is a Jehovah witness. when someone asks me, i just say i am a christian.
here is another example, during Christmas season this year...we saw one of her friends at a store. and we were talking about the holidays and what things were going to do. all of us participating like real people. then her friends says, oh i forgot you don't celebrate. my wife didn't say anything. it was strange....yet she acts like she is super JW.
She must suffer from Cognitive Dissonance more than what i believe she does.
Anyways, do you all ever see this, an active JW... who acts embarrassed to be affiliated with the cult.
if so, why do they do this ?...in there authentic hearts do they know it's all a bunch of bunk?

Why continue to suffer??

Tigerlove, so here's the deal...i vent about my wife here. because this is the only place i could vent. i treat her with the up most respect and love.
ya, i hate it when she is in cult mode...but when she is not, wow....we have a damn good relationship.
it's kinda like the Notebook...but i compare here cult mode to alzheimers and her normal mode is of course her memories of real life.
plus, our kids are amazing. but, i could kick myself everyday for getting involved with this cult!!!!!!!!!!!

Rumour about the reason of my disfellowshipping: Spiritism!
by Daniel1555 inin november i was disfellowshipped for apostasy or in other words, because i live by my conscience and not according to the unloving rules of a human organisation.
details of my story and the judicial committee you find in my older threads.. i am lucky, as the relationship to my parents is the same as before.
now my mother told me what one elder (cobe of the congregation of my ex wife) told one sister.. he met her on the street and talked about my disfellowshipping.

the JW belief system is just like lord of the rings its all fairytails. i would call that spiritism -

Is the religion of Jehovah's Witnesses really an inferior form of Christianity?
by nicolaou inseems to be quite a few posters recently pulling down the beliefs of jw's as not biblical or truly christian.
maybe you're right, maybe you're wrong, i really don't care.. in some important ways though mainstream christians often behave better than jehovah's witnesses; most don't practice shunning or impose lethal medical prohibitions on their members.
many are far more tolerant of the lgbt community and a few even make the awkward attempt to square the fact of evolution with their faith.. please note that i'm saying some, not all.. so i suppose it's fair to say that differing forms of christianity can be better or worse for individuals, families and the wider community.

Why would you even rank Jehovah Witnesses has a religion at all?
it's business, it's a captive cult!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Don't group this tripe with anything spiritual.
