i agree with Blondie, it is a social club. our old hall was all about fashion. it drove my wife nuts.....because it was a check out session for the sister on eachother...who is wearing what , driving what....latest apps....latest tablets. OMG i feel like i am in highschool.

Most people like my wife will turn a blind eye...mainly because they have been brainwashed to think the big A is coming soon and those not in will be destroyed. who wants to be destroyed.
but in hindsite...poor those brothers and sister who gave up there lives and familys for an orginzation that doesn't care. you know i heard someone say at the meeting the other day that we are free moral agents. i felt like responding with...ya until we become a witness.
also i often think of those people who die " a faithful witness" and realize there is an afterlife and how wrong they were when they were on earth.

I also mentioned to my wife that it was the 2nd day adventist that started all the hub bub about the end times. yet another deer in the head light look. I told she need to study these things to have a better understanding of her faith. or lack there of is what i was really thinking.
She always like to say: Faith without works is dead and i then say....so is the man who walks in the dark by a cliff.

theredeemer: When I told her this, which by the way was in the middle of the speakers talk. She gave me a look like she woke for a second....hope was there. then she went back to sleep.
Bottom line is...we have a great relationship. we never talk BORG stuff. we both has more friends that are not witnesses and our boys do too. Our younger soon said yesterday. My friends at the gym are better friends than the kids at the hall.
I would definelty say we are more non witness, than witness in our actions. but she wants to tow the line. I will keep going as long as it makes her happy. but she definelty knows how i feel.
I am addicted to this site BTW....good to see so many people wake up!

Focus: i also found the same information, it was an eye opener.
One eyed joe: i tried to explain about the 1914 dates being devised the numerology. how the practice of numerology is occult.....she then state: " i don't believe they came up with those numbers using numerology" again i told her " you obiously have not done deep research on what you are suspose to believe".
I take small jabs and leave the conversation hanging. trying to give her food for thought.
like sunday the speaker was talking about creation and how jehovah created everything. I told her, doesn't the new testament say Jesus created everything? yet the speaker never mentioned jesus. little jabs.

I then stated "what about 1914 and the dubs perdiction and what it means today" she said no there was never any predictions. I then told her about the predicted Gentile time. Again she looked at me like a deer in the head lights.
I told her obisiouly she doesn't know anything about the basic doctrine of what she thinks she believes. She said " i believe were in end times and to serve Jehovah and have a relationship with Jesus"
I told her that if you ever have a study and try to teach them about what you believe you are blood guilty for mis-informing them. than I told her I don't want to talk about it anymore...because i don't want to argue. I have better and more real things to argue about.
Keep in mind she is a born in to the JW's.....she has no clue she was baptized to the ORG and not Jesus or Jehovah.
Hence my comment i am convince current JW's have no clue what they should believe or what the real doctrine is....if they did i think the exodus would be quicker.

Roll call of those of us stuck in for our spouse or whos spouse is still in!
by BU2B ini just wanted to get a feel for how many here have awakened to ttatt but are still carrying on some jw activities to pacify them and keep the peace.
also trying to hear from those who have left, but whose spouse has stayed in the wt and in the marriage.. for me it comes down to my own mental anguish.
i am mentally tortured by attending the meetings, yet i feel compelled to because my wife would kill me with her personality if i had her drag 2 small girls by herself there.

Hello BU2B, I am still in due to my wife. she is still asleep to the mind control. our older son who is a teen thinks it a bunch of crap, he came to this by his own accord. our younger child will also learn as he goes it is crap. i teach them about the bible and Jesus. I will not allow our family study to be on the BORG propoganda. stricly the bible, when at the meetings I always show her the difference as to what the bible says and what the conductor is saying and how they are twisting the scripture. I hope she wakes up!!!!!! but for now i have to go the the circus to keep the peach..but note: she knows how i feel. baby steps i guess.

why does the NWT refer to christ as the christ. to me this is taking away his Sovereignty
