are there really 8 million jw's?
by wannaexit inlast circuit assembly there was 700+ present and 1 baptized.. recently there was a foreign language assemble of over 500 and 1 baptized.. in the last 5-10 years i haven't been to one assembly where there has been more than a handful baptized.
at the memorial all i see are the same old faces that have been coming since the flood.. the hall complex i attend has 6 congregation and several groups-there is negative growth.
when you factor in the demographically aging folk and the many who have already passed away, i don't know where they get the 8 million.. i know that most of the growth is from the developing countries, but still i think they are fudging their numbers.

I am with you....i think they fudge the numbers. unfortunately i still have to go...but rest assured. me and my boys are mentally out.
anywho.....it would say the average number at the hall my wife goes to is ~35 zombies and of those.....i would say that the majority are over 60 yrs old. (poor lost souls)
i just don't get where they get there numbers from

i saw one of the guardians at an assembly over the summer. we were leaving and walking through the floor. he walked by with his posie. i turned to my wife and said....look he's just like a rock star and laughed. she didn't think i was to funny.
although she didn't try and join the posie. if she would have, i would have just left her there and went my way.

My Mom Is Dying
by minimus ini just wanted to say that my dear 89 year old mom is terminally ill and will soon pass.
she is on morphine and hanging on.
she has been a devout witness for about 60 years and a wonderful mother.

in reality, the WTBTS is a large corp. They started a project or projects with the money they thought they had or figured they would have.
along the line they realized that they were in over there head. probably in the areas listed below:
1. quality of employees: ( meaning, you cant build complex large structures with volunteer employees...its not a quick build)
2. after realizing they need real worker who need to be paid real money....they realize the cost of the project has just went from $1500.00 sq/ft to $20,000.00 sq/ft
3. the money that thought they had is not there...probably to a down turn in the market and all the investments they had just did not perform like they wanted.
4. People who handle there money also taking the money for themselves. i.e. loosing millions.
it happens all the time..on a small scale you could compare it to pro ball players who get these 200 to 300 million dollar contracts and end up broke.
why? like i said....bad investments, accountants stealing money and overall no education on how to handle all that money.

I have the same question....somebody or somebodies are bleeding the watchtower dry. i will put on my conspiracy hat...ok, it's on.
the watchtower is run by a parent company, this company is in cognito. we don't know what they do, how they invest their money.
maybe they invested in a bad hedge fund or a bad stock and with the market downturn they lost there arses.
it has happened before to companies with alot more money.
i day traded for a while and i will tell you what...it is an addiction. like chasing the dragon. the GB are just front men or like i refer to them has G.O.D . they are bleeding money somewhere and we may never know.

Latest rumor - all WT construction "suspended", except for Warwick

apparently, at bethel's morning worship this morning, it was announced that all worldwide wts construction is "suspended" for an indefinite time, except for the new world headquarters at warwick.. also, the "relocation" of remote translating teams is also suspended.. finally, there will be a "worldwide" reduction in bethel personnel.. all this came to me in a non-english language, and,as noted, 4th-hand.
so it is possible something may have been lost in translation and/or in the multiple steps between bethel morning worship & me.. but if true, it would be quite stunning.
