it takes two to make a relationship work...if you are in one. you would know this. But it is hard to make it work when one is dedicated to a cult and one is dedicated to make a marriage work.

Oh BTW, I think my wife is an idiot!!!!!!!!!!! not because she is so close minded. But as the years have gone on I have come to know that he mental capabilty is extremely shunted. I can't have a meaningful conversation with her.

She goes on about the system of things ending and the great tribulation starting. I said, I thought governments we suppose to say peace and security and the end will come. I then said that in 1986 the governments said Peace and security. But no end in sight. She said they didn't say that, I said ok do some research.
Well anyways she goes on and said the witness are the chosen religion. I said well we have the book "The finished Mystery" and according your beliefs Jesus read this book in 1914 and decided the witnesses were the true religion. She said no they didn't. I said do you research and also read the book " The finished Mystery".
well anyways we were walking more and she said that the true religion follows that bible. So I said, OK...where in the bible does it say that Jesus returned invisibly in 1914? she said we don't teach that. I said what??? really??? what?? huh??...I said maybe you should find out what you believe. I said type in the JW library " beliefs clarified" She said don't tell me what to research. I said you should look up what the Org teaches about Jesus return invisibly.
Wow, she is just an example of so many of them that really don't know the history or what they believe.

And when she tries to talk about her beliefs and she is confronted with critical thinking questions. She just shuts down and accuses the boys of being just like me. What is that? a free thinker and critical thinker.
So i was talking with my younger son and discussing how She just shuts down when you question her beliefs. Keep in mind she will sometimes approach the boys and try and talk with them about religion. But when they start getting into anything semi deep. she cant have a logical answer and says " well this is what i believe" or " i don't care"
So talking with my son yesterday he mentioned to me that the night before she said something about religion. He started to talk to her about it and all she said was. " you sound like your dad" or " well this is what I believe" ect... got mad and shut down. ( her M.O)
Then he said profoundly. I don't thing mom really believes in the religion. I think she wants to believe it's true and that;s why she can't defend her beliefs.
We have a friend who is Mormon, she was talking with my wife about her beliefs. And this woman knew her religion through and through and explained why she believed it was true. ( it's still a cult also, but I give her credit) and my wife was like a deer in the headlights. Not knowing what to say and so shallow in trying to explain what she believes and I though. This is just an example of 99.999% percent of witnesses today.

i have been giving a lot of thought to the young people who are leaving the watchtower organization in recent years.
last night, i was reading the thread posted by jwfacts a while back in which he provided some statistics and graphs showing the rapidly declining growth in the watchtower.
one factor that was discussed at length was the high number of young people who do not stay in the organization.
when we got involved in 2008 our older son was 9 or 10 and younger son was 4 or 5.
The other kids were A-holes to our boys. Although my wife would never defend our son's she always
stuck up for the other kids.
This Cult has nothing to offer kids except for fear.
at the age of 12 or 13 my older son told me he thought it was all shite and didn't want anything to do with the
cult. shortly after I stopped going. I remember my younger son went with the wife a few times and one day at the age of 10 he called me and told me to pick him up from the hall. He told me he is never going back.
Yes, Both boys are now 22 and 17 and free thinkers. My wife barely talks with them and me. She is such an outstanding wife, a great example of what a wife and mother should not be.
Wow, not sure how much longer I could stay in this marriage.
Bottom line is, young ones stay in due to fear. Just all the other sheeple who stay in. FEAR, Obligation and Guilt
