That was pretty funny, thanks.
On prince, something tells me he's a JW because he's a bit insane....I don't know if it would be correct to blame his oddities on his being a JW. Certainly it doesn't help, but I suspect it's not the primary reason.
... may be rotting his brain with the jw crazy.
: ( so sad for this great artist to be engulfed by the jw - the crazy is so apparent.
*sigh* always loved prince, but the jws have really done a number on his head.
That was pretty funny, thanks.

a jehovahs witness who got sexual kicks from strangling young girls went unpunished for years after his activities were covered up by the congregation at the warwick church he attended.but perverted ian pheaseys past finally caught up with him when one of his victims went to the police having become concerned about him getting a job at a hospice.the warwick resident was jailed for five years after pleading guilty at warwick crown court to assaulting one girl causing her actual bodily harm and two of indecently assaulting other girls.the 54 year-old of langcliffe avenue, was also ordered to register as a sex offender for life and given a sexual harm prevention order restricting his contact with children.the offences pheasey admitted dated back to the 1990s when he was a member of the congregation at the kingdom hall of jehovahs witnesses in the woodloes area.his first victim was attacked in the kingdom hall library, where pheasey was the librarian at the time, when the seven-year-old girl went to get a book.prosecutor nicholas taplow told the court how pheasey closed the door, and as she reached for the book, he grabbed her .

... the response "we despise child molesters" by the society is truly getting more and more ridiculous everyday.
As shocking and disgusting as this case was, do we really need 35 threads about it?
Edit:
the majority of members who tend to join this forum have been hurt possibly even traumatized sometimes to the point of wanting to end their lives.
upon joining the forum, new members are welcomed with open arms, welcome messages start pouring in, "likes" are freely given, a false sense of security is promoted where a member is free to speak his mind without having to worry about the wt gestapo.
again, similar to how potential converts are welcomed and "love bombed" upon entering a kh for the first time.
All social groups are going to have some similarities. In any group the admission of a new member generates some excitement. The difference there is that here it seems to be genuine - I've never seen Simon or some other "leader" going around telling us we need to be more welcoming to new ones or telling us how to do that. In cults there are rules about how to live bomb people and you're judged by the group if you don't participate in the live bombing.
Furthermore, people can leave the forum without being punished by the group. I still talk to a few that have been booted from the forum for whatever reason, and I suffer no consequences for it. Others have left for years and maintained friendships with forum members or return and receive no judgement for having been absent.
Cults exist because they're fed by normal social behavior. It's how we're wired, so you should expect to see similarities everywhere. They'll just be at a much lower magnitude.
jan used a famous scientist to garner misleading support for creation, quoting rama singh as saying "the opposition to evolution goes beyond religious fundamentalism and includes a great many people from educated sections of the population.
2015 jan p.3) whilst the quote is accurate, it misrepresents singh's intention.
singh continues in the same paragraph, "there are several reasons why facts of evolution are not easily comprehensible by the general masses.
Jwdaughter:
Personally, even if they completely removed the quote I would personally be inclined to interpret it as further dishonesty. Not because they just can't do right by me, but because:
1 most jws were out peddling hard copies with the quote still in.
2 the removal online would make it more difficult to demonstrate their dishonesty and they make no admission of the error. They need to print a retraction.
3 they waited long enough to fix it that most anyone who was going to read the article would've already done so. Again they need to print a retraction online and in a new awake magazine that would get equal viewing to the misquote.
There's a reason reputable news sources often have notes at the end of a story detailing the (usually relatively minor) updates that were made after it went online. It's part of their journalistic integrity that they not go around trying to erase their mistakes, hoping they go unnoticed.
watchtower has defined certain circumstances where it's permissible to withhold certain facts, even telling an untruth.
like some outsider, or enemy, may not be deserving to know certain factual answers.. where can i find such quotations?.

They probably left it in there for the other languages because someone trying to do a google search by the text in a different language is much less likely to uncover the source material and realize that it was taken out of context. A google search of the quote is also unlikely to pull up their translated versions. Revising the text in other languages would've required that all their translators be aware of the revision and because this organization is as arrogant as it is, they obviously want to limit the number of people who know about the change and might realize this embarrassing "mistake."
the exclamation mark in the title above is because i was surprised, as i know that i am a "do not call", but this was what i presume were now two elders,(i have not been told their present status), so they reckon they are equipped to handle me, lol.
it was a friendly chat, as i knew the guys for decades.. during the course of our chat i was able to lead them towards jwfacts.com, i did this by a circuitous route which i will not bore you with, but right at the end i said that bro russell had said no matter what the source of truth was, it was still truth.. i am hoping they do not fear going to the site, i also pointed out that paul grundy says if anything is wrong on his site, e-mail him and he will correct it.. i did get a couple of digs in, said the gb were now like rock stars, one guy said "i don't think they would like you calling them that", so i said " o.k, tv evangelists then".
he had no reply to that barb !.

Is there a drive to 'reactivate(tm)' ex JWs? I know the elders are supposed to do this from time to time, but, is the corporation pushing this to get money?
I don't know how normal this is but the letter about the memorial included instructions for the elders to visit every DFed one in their territory (and the letter to be read encouraged normal JWs to invite inactive ones) to push them to attend. There's been several signs like this that they've taken notice of stagnant numbers and are trying lots of things to get them moving up again. I think they're realizing that the public at large doesn't have much interest in joining their cult so they're hoping to find the ones that left but haven't completely cleared out the indoctrination. Considering there's probably as many exJWs out there as active JWs, it probably appears to their delusional eyes as a field ripe for harvest.
In short: Control for control's sake.
Why the hell should they care if a visual aid that someone uses in the congregation has some animation to it or not? Makes no sense. Obviously they'd probably want to warn congregations not to, idk, screen a movie at the KH since that might violate the terms of use, but the way this is worded it rules out a powerpoint slide with transition animations (which can often be very useful in helping people to pay attention to the right part of the slide as the speaker is talking).
Just more stupid overly controlling cult nonsense.
the 2016 january tv.jw.org broadcasting has a clear message: jw.org needs more money!.
the 2 months of donation increase is not enough: the thousands of projects are not a 2 month project.. so: thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you (heh heh heh) and send us more!
personal conclusion: if i had any doubts that the society is sincere, this openly money grabbing has made my perception complete.
