  Are we starting to treat DF people differently?

  some may remember the time when the private study edition of the wt wasn't to be made available to outsiders, and the df'd.. now, with the recent boe letter, sept 1, 2014, it specifically states that jw.org is making the km available even for df'd individuals.. do you sense a new trend developing?.

  DFing isn't changing. If you think it is read the Nov. '14 study WT (I think that's the one) where it says that we should think of DF'd ones (even family members) as having been executed by god. I can't think of a much more extreem view that they could take.

  What this boils down to is money, and probably trying to keep people from getting their KMs on jwleaks or here (and eventually getting TTATT because of it, like what happened for myself and warehouse). Of course "We'd like to install marble tile in the showers at our new cult compound in warwick, so please stop ordering so many KMs because that's really cutting into our budget" doesn't sound as good as "we're oh so loving and want to extend an olive branch to the DF'd ones, so we're making the KMs available publicly"

  we know the wts offical answer to this but,.

  if god created complex unique creation and is the amazing designer - he must be as equally unique and complexed!

  surely god would need a creater too????.

  The "life is so complex that it must have an inteligent designer" argument is a form of the "proving too much" logical fallacy. Much of the time this falacy can be somewhat tricky to suss out because the false conclusion that it eventually leads you to can be inferentially distant enough that it's not very obvioius. In this case, it's quite delicious how obviously the argument proves itself false.

  Is new light coming again?

  i just turned in my resignation letter to my congregation a few weeks ago.

  last week, 2 elders called me to say they received my letter and would like to meet with me to discuss my concerns.

  in my letter, i said i had found out about all the child abuse cases that were going on and that i didnt agree with their policy of disfellowshipping.

  This makes me think of trying to cancel your cable TV. Only when you want to cancel and switch to another company do they bring out their "special offers" to make you stay. Though, there's one critical difference - the cable company usually actually has something to offer whereas these elders where just bluffing.

  "So, how many tracts did you place last month during the campaign???"

  as we all know, the org now wants everyone to count the number of flimsy, one page tracts on every monthly report from now on.... so, what is the general buzz around the traps about how many the average witness is reported to have placed?.

  (yes, it is a seriously stupid thing designed to keep the flock busy and also designed to measure their 'spirituality').

  i need to fudge my report, and i havent got the foggiest clue what sort of numbers each witness has on average 'placed'......

  AM - yeah, they made a change a couple months back that we should now report tracts. It's just another way of making the r/f feel like they're doing something productive while they waste their weekends.

  JW.org is a DIFFERENT religion from the WT and Kingdomhall

  has anybody else noticed the huge 180 degree under the public jw.org vs the material in the study articles?

  other than jw.org showing that shunning of family and those who left the religion does not happen, yet in the kingdomhall and wt is does happen.

  look at jwborgs stance on quitting school and getting higher education.... http://www.jw.org/en/bible-teachings/family/teenagers/ask/quit-school/ can anybody show one wt that says what is in the borg website?

  I've been expecting them to do this for a while now, I'm actually surprised it took them this long. My guess is that they got tired of people finding TTATT by searching for the KM PDFs. They've been pushing for everyone to get an iPad so it's only natural that people stumble upon this forum or jwleaks because they do a google search for the KM after a failed attempt to find it on jw.org

  10 per hour is actually pretty typical around here. That's about 25 houses an hour, but 5 are at home and don't accept the propaganda, and the other 20 are split with your d2d partner.

  Oh, and that's assuming you don't count your breaks. If you do, you can knock that down by about 25-50%

  wouldn't the watchtower be just like a preachers sermon already written down for everyone world wide to read at the same time?

  i'm not advocating the watchtower/awake (at this time) just trying to get a clear view on things as i make my departure from "the truth" and would like to get some educated/experienced takes on this..

  I read an article a couple years ago (and it actually helped me in my awakening) that made a very strong case that AA (and by extension, many 12 step programs) is a cult, or at least on the cult spectrum. It was an interesting read.

  have been lurking for a few weeks and just started posting.. one of the things i'm finding interesting about this site is how often someone posts a set of jw published material that contradicts each other.

  for example the other day someone posted about lecithin.
