They may not all become atheist right away but they're likely less dogmatic. It's also a lot easier to transition into atheism when you don't have the constant reinforcement of superstitions from going to church. Also, when you see church as a family thing or use it for social support you're less likely to reexamine your beliefs than you are if they're doing basically nothing for you. -

I know you're only the latest to the party, but how many threads do we really need for this show?

JW Tattoos
by bradford ini'm sure there are countless opinions on whether you should get a tattoo or not.
my personal view is that if you were to get one it should mean something.. anyone get a tattoo to remember their jw roots?
i was thinking of getting a tetragrammaton somewhere.
-

i have enough scars from my time as a JW, I don't need a tattoo to remember it. If I were to get something, though, it would be to remember my awakening and freedom, not my enslavement. I've considered getting something properly irreverent like a pentagram or something like that but I suspect that'd be misunderstood by most. -

How much do you think GB enjoy their lives?
by elbib inmany who have watched the gb know that they seem to be desperate to be admired, to be looked up to…….
now the question arises—do they really enjoy their lives?
does their superiority complex make them feel good?.

They have lives that are enjoyable, but I suspect that they don't particularly enjoy it. I think they truly believe the BS they're selling, and that must be incredibly frustrating. The world just won't quite seem to bend to fit their view and they are therefore constantly in conflict with reality. That probably doesn't make for a good time
That said, if they really don't care and it's all about business for them, then I'm sure at least some of them enjoy it. They don't all seem to be quite as full of themselves as AMIII, so I'm not sure I could say that they're all "in love with themselves." If they can put aside the fact that their worldview doesn't mesh with reality and just enjoy having all their needs taken care of and being adored by millions, then they should be having a pretty good time.

Child Abuse In This Weeks Meeting Part
by thedepressedsoul ini was sitting at the meeting this week and the "apply yourself to the field ministry" part started.
it was the first part under, "the initial call".
they read from the "good news" brochure and ask a question on it.

Is there a Q/A part in there? Someone should definitely mention the ARC's investigation into several religious groups that revealed that some hid over a thousand abusers from authorities. Maybe someone will get excited and do some research. -

Coordinator for the elder body
by truth doubter ini was recently told that circit overseers must give up the position at age 70. is that true and if so, does the coordinator have to give up his position at age 70 also?
-

Another thought - don't they pay for the COs medical needs? Makes sense that they'd give them the boot earlier. Than the COBE that they don't pay for. -

Why is it ok for witnesses to go to Church backed hospitals?
by stuckinarut2 inif witnesses should "get out of babylon the great" then why is it ok to go into hospitals that have been set up, and have funding from churches?.
isnt that a little contradictory or hypocritical?.

I actually wondered that many times. But I had a really good orthopedist at the Methodist hospital so I didn't fight it. -

Probably because they need more COBEs than COs -

yes, that's correct. COBE has to retire at 80.
