Most are clueless. But some have noticed.
My mom sent me a text with a story about conti attached so she knows a little bit.
Out in service one day a sister mentioned the pbs story. I enjoyed the conversation. CD at its best.
please pardon if this a repeated topic.
i have had virtually no contact with any witnesses beside my mother for the past few years.
she watches tv constantly and claims she has never seen anything on the watchtower abuse cases.

while at the assembly, when reading the financial statement, i noticed our expenses went from $2500 to almost $9500 so i questioned an elder and said that the assessment per publisher is at $10.50 for all in the us branch territory.. he added this helps the society know how much is coming in and helps them plan out future projects!.
i was just invited.
i thanked my old elder friend and he left.
(i'm not going).
this point was raised in another thread vaguely, and wanted to try and expand on it.. the wt has said (and rightly so in my opinion) "that excessive use of drugs and alcohol can ruin your life".
in my eyes this is a fact.. this is where it starts to get a little suspicious, as they also say (or subtly hint at) "that if you leave the wt you will becoming addicted to drugs and alcohol and will ruin your life".. its almost like a self fulfilling prophecy.
as there are a lot who leave the borg and they do start drinking heavy or smoking, or taking drugs...or whatever.. the wt capitalizes on the fact that people want more freedom, and they subtly ingrain the thought that.
Along the same line of thought I think that seeing people's lives going to shambles after they leave the Borg as being one of the strongest indoctrination tactics that the Borg has.
Recently a 50ish year old dub from a large family told me that the two brothers of his who left the "truth" lives are in shambles. And he is right. Their lives are a wreck. The rest of the family whom are witnesses have pretty good family lives. This is solid evidence to the rest of the family that being a witness is the best way of life.
i seldom hear of people getting df'd anymore.
years ago it seemed there were a few per year in a congregation.
Pixel,
is your hall younger?

hey all,.
i'm curious about the times and places we all come and check in on this great forum.. is it after a long day at work while having a drink, or during the work day on your mobile tablets, or quickly in-between family evenings etc...?.
do most "hide" their tracks when using the family computer, perhaps using "private browsing"?.

Pontoon. Thanks for the info. Those taxes do seem extremely high. I pay about 2k a year in taxes on a 175k home. Nowhere near what you are paying. I could see how tax exemption could ruffle some feathers when taxes are that high.
Iggy
does anybody have any information on recent growth in the jdub religion?
other than their own reports?
or, can you point me to the right post here?
This is my take.
I believe the Borgs numbers. They may stretch the truth but I don't think they are cooking the books.
There are NO middle class families joining. All growth is 1. Born in. 2. Foreign language. 3. Destitute. The median age of a dub is way older than the median age of the U.S. this will catch up with them soon. Within 5 years US growth will be zero or negative.
fading and not "outing" yourself.. what are your thoughts on it?.
i ask, because i just received a scathing personal message on facebook from a person who read my latest book and in it i describe myself as a fader.
i was not dfd and i did not da myself.
To each their own. I view u as a true authentic Ex-J-Dub.
For myself fading seems like the wisest choice if u can pull it off.
