No more printing of WT and Awake in my country.. Shit just got real

guys .

a letter was just read in out kh stating that all printing of wt and awake is ceased for the coming year and we will just place tracts on fs, countries which were cared by our branch will be cared by other countries...along with this they read the new fs form and stuff about reporting links of videos wtf..lol.

i can't tell which country perhaps that will give away a lot, any one with a similar information.

Thanks for the info. I'm real nervous about getting busted by the gestapo as well but not even divulging your country seems a lil overboard. Regardless I have heard nothing about this in to US.

They took all the circuit's money!

during the assembly they made an announcement about contributions and as always mentioned how expenses outnumbered the contributions so far and we are at a deficit of $6700 or so.

however, they then said that our money on hand in savings for the circuit was $51,000 and that they voted and will be sending $45,000 of it to the society.

who voted?

Yes. They have been widdling down our circuits account as well. This last assembly they donated all but 10k from the account.

Retirement Planning for ex-JW's

this is something i think about a lot, possibly because i'm just getting older.

it seems that not only should i finally one day decide what i want to do with my life, but i should also be planning for retirement.. hands up everyone who feels their future has been royally screwed by the wts experience?.

if you were a good jw and followed the wts advice you could well be finding yourself facing middle or even old age without much or anything put aside in retirement savings.

That's some great advice Simon! Thanks for sharing. This is something that I think a lot about as well. My dub parents are awful with money and my dad has to work until he is 70. There is no way I want to end up like that.

I would add that diversification is good. We have assets in stocks, rental properties, and savings accounts (emergency fund). I have a hard time trusting the stock market with all of my retirement money.

once we found out he was dying, i spent every moment i could with him, we were very close.

anyway, i offered to read to him a lot when he was resting.

don't forget to post your reported assembly and convention attendance and baptisms and whether they are higher or lower than customary (if you know).. here's some detail passed to me of the last circuit assembly held at surrey (uk) assembly hall.. attendance 922 baptisms 3 (half circuit).

Above normal Looked like mostly kids but I couldn't get a good look at them to tell for sure how many converts compared to born ins. Our previous two assemblies had 6 and 7 baptized Maybe the baptize them young rhetoric is yielding results

What is the Real Financial Cost of a Circuit Assembly?

my congregation along with about thirty others attends circuit assemblies at a facility that is owned by the organization (a converted school).

this building also has a section that serves as a kh for three local congregations.

i have noticed that when the financial reports are read at the assemblies that the expense (which is not detailed) is always around $4,000.

our circuit donates about $30000 at each one day assembly I have no idea how. That's $13 for every man woman and child in attendance. An average family of four would need to give $52. My family of four gave nada.
