When I think back on when I started losing faith in the Borg it all becomes kinda fuzzy. Even when I was 19, a pioneer an MS and the local golden boy I clearly remember lying about my Field service time Every month. If I really feared jehovah there's no way I would of done that.

BBC Radio 4 reference to 607 Babylonian conquest?
by 88JM inwas listening to bbc radio 4 late sunday night, and in a programme about migration, they referenced the "babylonian conquest of jerusalem in 607 b.c.
" which caught my attention.. did they not mean 587 b.c., or did i understand it wrong?.
the link to the programme is below - sorry if you're not in the u.k. as you probably won't be able to listen to bbc programmes.

If there is an on air correction, I would love to hear it. That would be great audio for my archives.

The Ravings of Trolls Distracts FOCUS From Real Watchtower Scandals
by cofty inmy thread was inspired by gentledawn's insightful comment about the effect the events in wales had on her jw husband.... hope any lurkers out there can filter out the signal (storys and experiences like this) to noise (the current trolls running amok on the forums) ratios.
this the problem with those who focus on outrageous fantasies about the watchtower.
it distracts from the real issues that need to be highlighted.. what happened in wales was for real.

I don't think that I'm smart enough to understand what FOCUS is talking about.

No Blood windshield stickers
by HappyDad ini just walked back from getting my mail and happen to walk right by an automobile that belongs to the jw's who live in the end of my building.
the sticker in the low left of the windshield caught my attention so i stopped to read it.
it was a sticker that said......advanced medical directive.....no blood!

I have never seen a sticker like that. Their witness friends probably think that they are a little bit wacko.

Single women with 3 kids returning to the meetings....
by EndofMysteries ini was talking with a still in relative today who mentioned how they had this sister with 3 or 4 kids over recently.
they said she is returning ot meetings and coming back into the truth, etc.
i remember when i was still in, the only ones i ever saw trying to return were generally the single moms with lots of baggage.

The mom was raised a jdub. Left but was still indoctrinated. Her life sucks now so she thinks it's because she left the org. She probably has no family support outside the org. The shunning policy is very successfull.

You don't seem to be as happy anymore!?
by stuckinarut2 ini have been told by some in the cong that i don't seem to be as happy anymore..."what's wrong?
" they ask..... i feel like screaming out "i'm not happy because i'm going insane living a sham fake life stuck in the org pretending to be a good ms and witness!".
i really do feel it is taking a toll on me...and even the damn bros and sis are now seeing it!.

It sounds like we r in much the same situation. The first thing I need to do is step down as a servant. That's actually a pretty difficult thing to do without raising any red flags. I've heard of plenty of elders stepping down to allow for more time with their families. But being an ms really doesn't require that much time to allow for that excuse. Do you have any ideas on how to make that first step. I really can't imagine totally cutting out the Borg at this time Everyone in my life that matters to me is inside.

My Experience and how I finally let myself see the truth
by OneEyedJoe infirst off - for those lurkers who feel guilty just for being on this site and reading this (even if you don't read any further, as it is your right to choose that course) i want you to know that you're not alone in what you're going through or in what you are feeling.
if you read on, i hope my experience may be of some small help to you.. this may be long, but i'll try to organize it in a way that doesn't make it painful to read.
to start, i feel it is most beneficial if i'm upfront and honest with my goals from posting this, which are (in order of the degree to which they motivated me):.

Oej. I really enjoyed your op. You conveyed your thought fantastically. I wish I had that same gift of pen. I don't have any brilliant answers for you as I am in much the same predicament as you. I know that I am going to give a lot of thought into when I will exit. Currently my wife is pregnant and my mother in law and father in law are in awful health. I think to throw my apostasy on my wife right now would just be too much. I think that apognophos advice is really interesting. At the current time my wife's life is prob easier with the Borg than it would be without. I can help to prevent our kids from being fully indoctrinated and if a blood issue does arise, I will be there to make sure wise decisions are made. This is of course for the time being. I cant imagine spending the rest of my life in this high control group. I wish you the best and thanks again for sharing your story.
