Question for those still attending the Kingdom Hall
by ToesUp inthis a question more out of curiosity, because we have not stepped foot in a kh in 3 years.. how is the attendance at the meetings/assemblies?
i know the answer will vary due to location.. are you (especially elders) receiving any notification or communication from bethel or co's that there is an upsurge of people that are simply disappearing or out right dis associating?.
thanks, in advance, for your feedback!

Our local KH attendance has been consistent for a long time now. Not great but steady. Our circuit assembly is always packed. The issue is that most of the elders at our hall are old though. In 20 years most of them will be dead. -

What is the motivation behind the JW org?
by Half banana inthe gb has recently said that the brothers are generously contributing lots of money (at gunpoint it seems!
) so why with a billion dollar annual income do they demand more cash?
they have staunched the outward flow of money on paid preachers, zone overseers and bethel expenses and stalled the promised worldwide luxury buildings projects..

It would be great to know the answer to this. I lean towards the idea that there is not anyone else behind it all. -

How to spot faders or "closeted" apostates in a congregation / meeting?
by nevaagain inso i am awoken for several years now (never really bought the cool aid) but for family reasons i am still enduring everything.
but my wife knows ... .
anyway so yesterday we had this boring meeting and as i was sitting there trying to make time pass faster i looked around me and i thought who else feels the same as me and is completely bored?

Same for me. I had a couple prospects at my hall but so far they have all fizzled out. I would think that if someone else was awake in my Congo it would be pretty easy to pick up on my feelings.

Of course the city is going to go for a cash grab. Can't blame em. The Borg offered 5 million and the city is sniffing to see if they can get more. Maybe they will get 7 mill or something. For the most part WT has been a good tenant in Brooklyn. In the near future all of the WT Brooklyn properties will be returned to the city tax doles. I'm surprised that the city council is picking now to complain about my cult. -

Has a 'Christian' ever murdered somebody?
by goddidit ina jw made the claim "no christian [jw] has ever murdered anyone".. when i showed examples of such, the goalposts moved a bit with "was he a baptized, dedicated witness?".
can anyone provide examples of murders committed by "baptized, dedicated" jws?.
thanks.

In Holly Michigan around 1996 one JW murdered another. He was I think 18 at the time. He is still in prison and still a JW now. There was a write up about him in the paper prob about 5 years ago. I'm sure I could find the article if I had to. I can't remember his last name at the moment. -

C of C is a very strict religion. No dancing. No booze. More struck than dubs in many respects. There are divisions among them though and some branches may be more strict than others. -

Some thoughts on the new midweek meeting
by Saltheart Foamfollower inthe new midweek meeting has been running for a month now.
here are my thoughts on how it is going so far:.
1) elders are looking frazzled from being on virtually every meeting and having to prepare unfamiliar formats for items.

My take
1. The clam is more boring (than the TMS (didn't think that was possible)
2. Those 3 presentations every week are gonna get real old real fast
3. Having the book study at the end makes the meeting really drag on for me.

Multilevel sales and CO !!
by sp74bb init seems that some co need much more $$ and in some countries they started to promote multilevel sales among their contact network.
have you been involved in any offer of such nature?

I would love some evidence of COs supporting MLMs. I have seen none in my area. -
