After 2 years my parents make contact. The end result is that I promise them to cryogenically preserve ONLY their heads
by paulmolark init has been 2 and a half years since my departure from the religion.
i was told by my parents from the start that i would never speak to them until i returned to jehovah dog.
a few months later they told people they hoped i died before the end came, then all of this culminating in them telling my inactive / fading sister that they don't consider me a child anymore and they have given me up to satan.

June JW Broadcast - Jehovah's & Jesus' names Are Interchangeable!
by The Searcher inmr. geoffrey jackson hosts this month's propaganda-fest, and uses a favourite catchphrase of the org - "by extension" - to get out of the dead-end which the scriptwriters had put him in.
he quotes matthew 10:22 - "and you will be objects of hatred by all people on account of my [jesus'] name; but he that has endured to the end is the one that will be saved.".
mr. jackson knows only too well that probably no j.w.

Next to J it is "GB this and GB" that in comments, talks and prayers at the KH and in the mags. Jesus comes in a dismal 3rd. Such a supposed all important name and it has been reduced to "J."
I can remember a time not to long ago when calling someone a "JW" was unacceptable. Proper terminology was "One of Jehovah's Witnesses" not "a Jehovah Witness" either.
J...what kind of witness is that? For all you know it could stand for Jackass.

Are You "Technically" Still A Jehovah's Witness?
by minimus ineven if you don't regard yourself as a practicing jw, some may view you simply as inactive, a lost sheep, etc.. if you were baptized but not disfellowshipped or disassociated, you may still be a jw---right?
your thoughts please..

Recently talked to a friend who doesn't post here any longer, only lurks. Seems a couple of jDubs outed him based on his comments.
Makes me think about what I post on this site.
Inactive over one year, quit TS, no comments, arrive late - leave early when I do go to mtngs once or twice per month. Considered spiritually sick by most (no social invites) and have even been asked if I have been privately reproved (replied "that's confidential")... works for me... lol

It Is Official, Just as Predicted on this Site... Local Cong Donates all Monies on Deposit with You Know Who!
by RichardHaley inmy local cong just donated all money (4k +) on deposit with you know who to, you know who.
"since the society forgave all kingdom hall loans the boe felt it only appropriate to forgive the society of our loan to them.
" is exactly how it was presented to the r&f.

DesirousOfChange20 hours agoWe are obligated now to a monthly KH fund expense of $500
Haven't donated a dime since 2008. Wished I had stopped sooner.
I hope you made a Freudian slip there, when you said WE are obligated to pay......
NOT ONE DIME of my money has gone into a Contribution Box in at least 5 years. I don't give a sh!t what the other dumb a$$es give them, but I talk negative about all the begging for money whenever I have the opportunity.

We were told years ago when the money we had in the savings was moved to the society not to worry, that it would be still like a savings account we could access at any time to cover our bills on short months or spend on upgrades to the hall. Our hall has been paid off for years (no money borrowed from wts) and we never borrowed any money for the last 2 remodels (around 30 years). We are obligated now to a monthly KH fund expense of $500 when the average donation per month before the "arrangement" was around $75.
Not that I am surprised, just that predictions on this site usually come true contrary to the dismal record of "you know who!"

GB’s spring cleaning helps faders
by wheelwithinwheel inthe gbs 2015 doctrinal spring cleaning is a gift to all faders.
when we were fading they were grappling with the dying generation.
their ensuing explanations made our diminishing meeting attendance and service easily explainable.

You can disappear right under their noses one brick at a time. Stepped aside as an E with a legit reason. Then stopped commenting at meetings. A little later got out of the school. Slowed down on FS and eventually became inactive. Rumor has it I might be on restrictions... so many shun me...lol. I attend one or two Sundays a month currently. COs and BOEs have ignored me and I don't engage in JW conversation even though I am around them every day (workers and family). This is a little over 5 years worth. -

by Gorbatchov intonight gorby and his wife watched a part of the 2015 may edition of jw broadcasting.

Indiana "Religious Freedom" (right to discriminate)
by Simon insickening to see the photo of the religious zealots all stood around the governor signing into law the right for people to discriminate against others (gay, lesbian, trans-gender) based purely on religious dogma.. if religious people want those freedoms then the can't have it both ways - they cannot complain if *they* are discriminated against.. "sorry, we don't like zionists, get out".
"oh, it's some special mass and you can't work your shift?
you're fired!"..

When I had a business I had a sign on the door that said "We reserve the right to refuse service to anyone." This was applied several times to people who had bounced checks on me in the past unless they paid with cash of-course. I was not prejudice against poor people. I feel a privately owned business has the right to refuse service to anyone offset by the fact that the customer has the right to refuse to deal with a business. Morals and laws are two different things that conflict at times. If I was required by law to engage in a business arrangement that went against my conscience then I would choose not to be in that business. However sometimes laws are enacted after a business has been established for years that the owner of the business doesn't realize or has trouble with. The circumstances have to be considered in the context of many variables. If someone doesn't want to be involved in a business transaction with someone while at the same time still providing that service to others doesn't always mean they are being discriminatory. -

Asshole Atheism – Not for me, now or ever.
by donny into start off with let me clarify that by asshole atheism i am not referring to strong atheism or any other type of upfront atheism.
what i am referring to is the belligerent, hateful atheism that smacks of trolls and other types who want to derail conversation or comments at any cost..
i enjoy hearing comments from both sides of the subjects of theism, nationalism or politics, especially from those who have intense opinions.

@ crofty your right, a bit off topic. Posted it to give an example of how scientific data is sometimes manipulated to push an agenda.
