Elders are still in process of sending my details to CO and branch, awaiting their approval for my resignationThis actually cracks me up... I was also told this by the "body" but I had preempted this by sending my resignation to the CO first. Like it or not, I/you have redesigned! There is nothing for them to approve. It takes years to flush watchtarded thinking from your mine.

by Sanchy inwarning of a long boring post ahead.
i feel like i need to vent my story out, as i feel quite helpless at the moment.. i'm 31 year old, married, father of toddler with another one on the way, due later this month.
i've been serving as elder for about 4 years now in a south florida congregation.

Preaching? For what purpose? All JW's need to ask this question.
by park ave boy inwhat is the purpose of preaching if not for converts?.
basically, preaching by the jw's is to make converts.
this in itself implies that jehovah's witnesses believe that they alone have the only acceptable way to god and that everyone else is just not worthy.

I would have to agree with konceptual99 comment above. The fact that the ARC was able to investigate the Australian branch was because records existed. WTS policy until 2008 (US) was to keep all pedo related files in sealed envelopes in cong safes indefinitely. After that I can't say.

Stepping out of the shadows
by contramundum ini have been lurking on the site for a few months and thought it about time i plucked up the courage to step out of the shadows and say hello.. i am in the process of fading after realizing all is not right with the organization i had trusted implicitly for over 40 years.
there have always been 'truths' i have struggled to accept entirely, even as a child, but was confident that trusting in jehovah, building my faith and remaining patient would be enough to settle any nagging doubts that remained, so i pushed any inconsistencies to the back of my mind and concentrated on being the best witness that i could be.. over the last few years, however, i have been preoccupied with a number of crises in my family and stepping back slightly from 'theocratic' activity has allowed me to re evaluate a number of concerns and research sources other than the sanitized wt publications.. my eyes are now wide open - i found things which have appalled me and left me feeling extremely let down and disappointed by people i had really trusted.. i tried gently raising a few subjects with my mum (who was baptized early '70s and still remains a staunch wt supporter) but she will hear no criticism of the organization.
i understand this because the best part of her life has been invested in the religion and to acknowledge it may have got things wrong would be to recognize the last 40 years have been a vain waste.

Welcome aboard contramundum, lots of good advice here. Isn't it nice just to stay home and enjoy the TV or the garden... same here. Everyone's situation is a bit difference. I mostly just ignore comments from still-iners... but I do have a couple of favorite responses I use occasionally. "I'm just a slacker" or "I did my tour of duty, taking some time off, how 'bout you?" I have been in the same location for 30 years and do not plan on moving so every once in a while there will be a confrontation. "I don't care to talk about that now, maybe some other time..." works well in that case. Hope everything go well for you. -

$10 per pub. Money begging session last night
by StarTrekAngel inlast night, during our "christian life and ministry" meeting, we had a session on local needs.
elder opened the talk with a disclaimer saying that this was a reminder (cited psalms about how david loved jehovahs reminders).
he reminded us of how bless we are of having our own local assembly hall.

Back in the late 80s the a and b circuits here opted out and rented a building at the local fairgrounds rather than travel the extra 90-150 miles to the ah. The rental was less than half of what was charged for the ah. there was more work as far as setup involved and sound wasn't as good but other than that all went well. After that the circuits were accused of not going along with "the arrangement" and told to get back in line with "theocratic order." Currently it is 12k for one day. -

My wife made a very wordly comment the other night
by Clambake inmy wife who is currently on maternity leave made a comment about luck she was to leave in canada because we get 52 weeks maternity at basically 40,000 per year.
she is not originally from canada coming from a country with basically no maternity leave.
i told her to make sure she doesn't say anything like that at kh.

Revealing Watchtower tax returns
by Nambo inplease excuse if this has already been posted:- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ysyqish-l_e.
under the freedom of information act, this guy has tax returns showing where your money goes, where it is invested, companies like northrop gruman, monsanto, cigarette and porn peddlers, and we thought we where giving money to god!
i am quite sickened to discover i was giving money to the watchtower to invest in arms manufacturers..

jw children can't accept as much as a belated birthday cupcake on the down low without getting in trouble and I am expected to believe the org is forced to accept this? -

No more reporting time for field service!!!
by Khaleesi inso at last i am in my next step of my fade, this month is the first month i did not turned in any hours.
i received a text from our group leader an ms & i told him i didn't have any to report, then of course it got bumped up to the elder & i text him back i have no hours to report for december.
i came to this decision when reading many posters here about the yearbook stats, i do not want & refused to contribute to this organization "boosting" numbers for their glorious purposes, after the rc in australia they do not deserve for me to give them a "production" report of what i do for god, no more.

The pressure is most during the first 6 months of your non reporting while you are considered "irregular" and lowering the cong average. This will affect the elders during the next co visit and puts you on their radar. After 6 months you become inactive and not counted as a publisher so don't effect their stats. After a year or so your publisher card will be moved to the back of the publisher record file. From there on it is pretty much RIP.
