Oh yes and there was one other post i did want to comment on.. as far as my financial status... my husband and i are by NO means financially stable... My husband is a rig hand for an oil company and is in the national guard. I do not work and we are just barely making it by. So whomever suggested i was "recruted" for financial status. as much as i would LOVE to say that it was a possibility it most certainly is not.

Hello there no i did not "run away" i was dealing with a very sick family member and have not had time to check in... I have read all of your responses and appreciate them dearly! If you felt i was being argumentative i do apologize that was not what i was going for... I was mearly asking questions the same as i have done with my friends i am studying with... I was by no means trying to turn you against each other. and I apologize if you felt thats what i was doing.
Honestly when i "stumbled" across this site i thought it was a "support group" for witnesses i did not realize that it was an ex-JW site... so yes you could say that i was quite "taken aback" and felt kind of threatned or intimitated by the responses... Although i do appreciate the concern i am by no means RUSHING to get baptized. At this time my husband and I are enjoying the bible studies and are getting alot from them.

Well i am trully sorry that you feel that way. But as I have stated that is infact where i meet my friend, we meet there every morning in fact (except Sundays)
I am not trying to bring you back into the religion or anything like that i honestly just wanted to know if there was anyone in a simliar situation that would be able to anwser my question.

I am by NO means a "troll" I am anwsering questions and telling my expierence. If you do not like that then i am very sorry.
And as far as her "getting" away with it because her father is an elder. Not true either. She left the church, and came back. And I have seen many many people from our congretion at the Y working out.

I have infact mentioned meeting my friend at the Y to many at the meetings. INCLUDING the elders. (one of them being my friends father)

No not at all. If i have asked a question she or he depending on who i have asked has anwsered right away. They led me to the bible and gave me some scriptures to read. asked me what if i got the anwser and what i had interpretted it as.
I just am having a hard time believing that they are trying to "suck me in" because it is me who is actually the one that is so excited. The reason we are doing two bible studies a week is because my husband and I WANT to. not because they are forcing us. She has talked to me about many of the "negatives" and I agree/understand them after reading scripture.

I truly thank all of your for your words :) I do find some of them quite confusing. you state that witnesses are not allowed to go to the YMCA? wierd thats ACTUALLY where i met my friend that i began studying with... at the YMCA. we worked out together for 4 months became super close and about 3 months into our friendship (i had already met all of her family (all witnesses) NONE of them mentioned the faith to me..) Another girl that we work out with told me that she was a Witness and I was intregued. and began asking questions. THATS when she invited me.
I understand what you are saying and i appreciate all of your comments.

Talesin.... Doesnt that happen in EVERY religion. I can remember the same thing happening in the Catholic religion on a huge scale not too long ago.
So because 30 teachers out of 10,000 have done horrific things should you NEVER send your children to school again???

I understand everything that you are saying because i have seen and heard all that before OnTheWayOut. But here is the deal nothing that anyone I have meet at meetings have said or done support any of what is on the site you showed me. In fact.... as far as them trying to slowly pull me away from family? YESTERDAY i found out that my non-JW stepdad is in double kidney failure. A friend (whom i knew for about 4 months before finding out she was a witness - there goes the not talking to anyone that is not in the faith) immediatly offered to pick me and my non-JW mom up and drive us 3 hours to sit with my stepdad while he went thru his first dialysis...
NOONE has forced me, NOONE has scolded me for having views, when I have questions they are anwsered using the bible... These are things that are appealing to me.
I should point out that I am the one that asked her about her faith and her religion and then kind of invited myself to some meeting with her family. She never pushed anything on me.

Thank you Objectivetruth. That is very comforting to see and hear. Noone that i have studied with or met at the meetings has tried to correct me it was more on myself. Everyone has said to me that i will know what to do and how to feel when the time came for me to make that choice. From reading the scriptures you showed me i can see that i do not have to turn my back on family which is very comforting. Also I can support my BROTHER just not the war that he is in because Jehovah will be able to see the good in my heart <3 Thank you.
