As the winner of the 200 Comment position with our beloved "A Believer":
You have won:
A personal audience with him (or is it "her"? :) )
For an entire hour you will run hand in hand with him/her on the beach of your choice
(travel expenses not included)

so i ended up going to the meeting yesterday.
i have been absent for almost 2 months.
my wife was also absent as long but mostly out of chance.
Reading others' comments convinced me this is NOT a social call,
In a social call you don't invite yourself over to someone's house,
With a social call you invite someone to YOUR home,
If I were you I would call and say that I'm really not up to a visit (that's
what this is by the way a VISIT)

I was just wondering if he'll be wearing a tie
contrary to popular belief you can have your baptism annulled as i did by my local elders after my judicial hearing.. the watchtower of 1964 page 126 first paragraph clearly states that anyone that was committing a gross sin before, during and after their baptism is void.
in order to get right with the lord you would need to be re-baptised.
err no thanks, i'm not a believer!!!!.
I'm missing something here,
This doesn't align with all other information I've gathered on the subject,
I look forward to hearing what other comments will be posted
:0)
Watchtower policy won't normally align itself to 1964 eg at that time they werent pre qualifying with questions for instance

Regarding couple initiatives,
Yes probably a number of decades back,
Socializing was used as a way to try to bring an "unbelieving mate" into
the truth,
It was about the only worldly association that I can think of that was
deemed acceptable,
A lot of "worldly" mates (men) wisely declined,
Come to think of it apart from work, I can't think of any worldly
association, actually approved that doesn't include witnessing
Be prepared!

Just something that occurred to me,
With a sister there
Especially with the visit under the guise of a social affair
There will be no confidentiality,
What will be said
In all probability
Will be broadcast
Thoughout the countryside

my dad{rip}, was a faithful jw since the year i was born, i'm 60, he died 2 years ago.
his last 12 years were spent in an assisted living/nursing home right in the small town where he spent the last 8 years of being an elder/pioneer.
when he went into the home, one brother would visit him regularly, but after 4 years, that friend moved away, and visitation from the locals ceased, for 8 years!!!!!!!
I'm sorry Raymudas
that your father did not receive the respect and attention that he deserved
I think of my aunt who special pioneered for many years
Died in a home of MS alone
She begged me to have a certain elder visit her
A crippled up woman, can't move
So I asked him
He laughed and asked why does she want ME?
He never did visit of course,
There's a lot of anger,
But we have to just try to forget,
And live our life the best we can now

I think that you have a good handle as to what's going on,
The sister would really like to be a an elder if she had her way,
So this way she gets to play one,
I think that if it wasn't for your wife you know what to do here,
But you want peace at home and this is very understandable,
I think you're going to go through with it for that reason,
Speaking from my own experience I think you have to say something
Like "I'm happy to catch up but I'm not talking to anybody about faith or religion, I'm not sharing what is very personal to me,
If they don't respect my wishes in my own home, I stand up and help them with their coats,
I think they owe me that respect,

the issue of whether beards are acceptable or not is addressed in the september 2016 watchtower - well sort of.
it is as clear as mud as to whether they are allowed in places like australia, usa and britain.. 17. what are some factors that may affect whether a brother wears a beard?17 what about the propriety of brothers wearing a beard?
the mosaic law required men to wear a beard.
