Ironically, I believe they also use that illustration to help people see the
need to be critical of the religion that they're in,
:0)
no doubt we have all heard that well used "illustration" in public talks etc over the years:.
"if you were handed a glass of water that looked pure, but were told it has just a tiny drop of poison in it, would you drink it?".
the society has used that illustration at length to say we should avoid all influences of every part of the world.. but, as we know, the society has had a track record of errors, false ideas and doctrines.
Ironically, I believe they also use that illustration to help people see the
need to be critical of the religion that they're in,

as in today's study.... 18 to lie is to say something untruthful.
(as in millions now living will never die, this generation will by no means pass away, allegations of pedophile abuse of children in congregations is apostate lies) however, jehovah wants his people to go beyond not telling outright lies.
he urged the ancient israelites: “you should be holy, because i, jehovah your god, am holy.” then he gave examples of being holy.
How, I was wondering if anyone here numbered and listed Jackson's lies
at the ARC
Thanks,

it has been 21 years since the 1995 article that pretty much buried the idea of the '1914 generation'.. remember those guys?
the ones born in 1914 that would still be alive when the end of the system arrived.. i'm glad i'm old enough to remember going from door to door, preaching this belief.
the reason i say that is because i have a lot of 'still in' jw friends and family.
"Those who fail to learn from history are destined to repeat it"
I've tried during my life to figure out people and religion
People, women, going up over 10 flights of stairs on their knees,
Stopping on each step to offer prayers,
MuslIm emerges from a mihrab, in tears, emotionally exhausted to be
comforted by family,
The ritual of mass sometimes daily,
Older folks "old faithfuls" going to "meetings" 3 times a week,
Ministry
The commonalities here between these groups are greater than their
differences,
The greatest book the Watch Tower produced was "Mankind's Search for
God"
It gave an understanding of where religion came from
It quoted Anthropologists
Most importantly Witnesses could read it without reprisal!
One thing I learned about all the examples above and later from fellow
Witnesses
They all DO NOT want to examine their religion
Do you know the story of "The Emperor's New Clothes"?
In the modern day application the people CAN'T see the truth,
To me it's apparent that they don't want to
They can't "handle the truth"
And in the modern version they silence the little boy as well

I'd be interested in reading her pieces,
What kind of objective journalism could she bring to the table?
By comparison, how about a woman who is a devout Muslim
How about a Scientologist
An Evangelical when reporting on a new abortion clinic?
Maybe it could work if she reported on Business or Fluff pieces
Wonder if she'll stay pioneering as well, because as for appointed bros
there's a different standard of what's expected of you than r&f

Numbers 31:17,18 is not talking about torture
It is however Biblical support for genocide
Trump might want to put it aside for future reference
