I was just wondering if somehow they could build that hedge
trimmer incident into an Assembly demo (I hope everybody was OK!)
:0)
so our sunday meeting was on the 25th (christmas) and my active jw wife and i were out of town enjoying some family time with relatives.. apparently there were many others in our congregation that missed as well.
so few were there in fact that sisters ran the mics.
(actually it was a sister running one of the two mics) a friend of my wife commented to her about how the brothers just aren't stepping up and it "makes her want to cry.
I was just wondering if somehow they could build that hedge
trimmer incident into an Assembly demo (I hope everybody was OK!)

funny but for whatever reason, i can't stop singing walking in integrity from the old songbook!
it's in my head and in my opinion it was one of the few songs i really liked..
Hey Muddy Waters
I think this discussion is making the real Muddy Waters roll in his grave!
:0)
please don't hate on me.. im a 30 something blind woman, who has been aware of the witnesses a while.
after my dad died five years ago - i questioned my own faith - christian (anglican).
tried everything - the occult, new churches etc.. 3 years ago i was suggested to have a study by a good friend who is jw.
One thing that the witnesses will not give you is a complete account of
their 140 year old history,
Which is ironic as they go over and over the historic faults of of other
religions,
For starts, did you know that the man that founded the religion/cult was a
pyramidologist,
Verified his prophetic calculations by comparing them to
measurements of the Pyramid of Giza?
Maybe you're OK with that and that's fine,
I'm just saying that I think you should know,
Almost all Jehovah's Witnesses don't!
All the best to you in your journey

I was thinking of a funny scenerio,
Elders come to my door,
I tell them that I left because my favorite song is not in the new
Songbook,
What would they say?
Sadly, Elders aren't known for their sense of humour,
Lol

Paradise Present and Future, the "Hawaiian" effect was caused by moving
(sliding) chords as would be played by a Pedal Steel Guitar ubiquitous to
County Music,
A Hawaiian invention,

I'm not the only one as it's been kicked out DFed :)
Funny story Re We're JWS you know the chorus: Ours is the God of true
prophes eeeee Can you hit that last note, the composer told me that he
knocked that note down so people could reach it,
And I thought umm
Maybe you should try again,
Lol

Walking in Integrity was written by Vern Duncombe, a big George Shearing
fan, you can hear his influence,

Forward You Witnesses as it was written in and smuggled
out of a Nazi concentration camp,
Great emotional attachment to me for that reason,
I understand it's not in the current song book
I'm going to check,

i recently spoke to an old friend of mine who is still under the clutches of the watchtower.
a while back, i had told him about all the child sex abuse coverups, false prophecies, false doctrines etc.
he was really shocked and surprised.
I think that what Dennett (above) is saying has an application to JWS but
not to the majority,
There are a lot of thinking people no doubt,
But what are they willing to give up in order to be free?
It took me many years to release from my long standing marriage,
A relationship with my adult children and grandchildren,
I chose freedom because I couldn't stand to surround myself anymore
with the wrong that ruled my entire life,
And remain silent anymore,
And if I spoke up my family would silence me,
Nice choice huh?
But I am at peace now for the first time,
:)
