Just something that occurred to me,
With a sister there
Especially with the visit under the guise of a social affair
There will be no confidentiality,
What will be said
In all probability
Will be broadcast
Thoughout the countryside

so i ended up going to the meeting yesterday.
i have been absent for almost 2 months.
my wife was also absent as long but mostly out of chance.

my dad{rip}, was a faithful jw since the year i was born, i'm 60, he died 2 years ago.
his last 12 years were spent in an assisted living/nursing home right in the small town where he spent the last 8 years of being an elder/pioneer.
when he went into the home, one brother would visit him regularly, but after 4 years, that friend moved away, and visitation from the locals ceased, for 8 years!!!!!!!
I'm sorry Raymudas
that your father did not receive the respect and attention that he deserved
I think of my aunt who special pioneered for many years
Died in a home of MS alone
She begged me to have a certain elder visit her
A crippled up woman, can't move
So I asked him
He laughed and asked why does she want ME?
He never did visit of course,
There's a lot of anger,
But we have to just try to forget,
And live our life the best we can now

I think that you have a good handle as to what's going on,
The sister would really like to be a an elder if she had her way,
So this way she gets to play one,
I think that if it wasn't for your wife you know what to do here,
But you want peace at home and this is very understandable,
I think you're going to go through with it for that reason,
Speaking from my own experience I think you have to say something
Like "I'm happy to catch up but I'm not talking to anybody about faith or religion, I'm not sharing what is very personal to me,
If they don't respect my wishes in my own home, I stand up and help them with their coats,
I think they owe me that respect,

the issue of whether beards are acceptable or not is addressed in the september 2016 watchtower - well sort of.
it is as clear as mud as to whether they are allowed in places like australia, usa and britain.. 17. what are some factors that may affect whether a brother wears a beard?17 what about the propriety of brothers wearing a beard?
the mosaic law required men to wear a beard.

you're not likely to see this in an awake!
magazine, but here goes.
for those that believe in intelligent design please explain this one to me:.
my husband and i recently moved back to our hometown so we are back on the radar for the elders.
we have been happily inactive the last few years.
the other day a brother, who was once friends with my husband, and a substitute circuit overseer stopped in my husband's work for a shepherding visit if they still call it that.
You don't seem to be aware of the JW practice of witnessing to mourners at open grave sites at cemeteries

Well schnell
They will be wary of you as
Everyone knows,
That when you have a beard
It means that you're hiding something :)

I don't think they make a demarcation between invading your living space and your work space, I was hustled during my morning Starbucks ritual, a little embarrassing as I was trying to distance myself in a small community, no space is sacred, I don't see this ever changing sadly, I moved far away and have bought myself some peace finally,
Hopefully your experience is better!

Don't know your history but mine goes effectively back to the 1960s where it was known as "business territory"
You're suggesting it's used as well for shepherding calls, not surprising,
