it is an often asked question i know, but it perplexes me.. if witnesses are so convinced that they have "the truth", why is the act of researching information from external sources so taboo?
didn't the bible itself tell people to "use their powers of reason" and also praised ones like the boreans for researching things they were told??.
seriously, if there is no doubt about the organization being "god's channel" on earth, and it alone having the "truth", surely researching would only enhance such 'facts'?.
i realize that wt has got a wind fall of cash through various means.
so my question is in the greater scheme of things is it really that much.
for example let's say with all their real estate and cash on hand they are worth about $20 billion dollars.
Hey slimboy
I was wondering if Lett's statement was on youtube
Thanks for any information

necessary as it is at times, i hate this word.
for one thing, "ones" is a plural form of the number 1. that is dumb, and it's reason enough to avoid it where it isn't entirely necessary.. one could argue that it never is necessary, but it can still come up in colloquial dialogue when discussing objects.
jw leaders use it to discuss people.. interestingly, jws even did this to jesus christ in their own translation of the bible, referring to him in ephesians 1:7 with "through the blood of that one" where another translation would say something like "through his blood".
Ex JWS tend to be Polymaths
JWs as well but they are taught to suppress and keep their studies to
the Borg Pubs
Rather sad

Well I suppose if these guys fold I can always give to the Vatican
attached is a link to a great article with audio and visual proof chronicling the jw cults anti-child bearing, fear mongering, failed and false predictions "inspired" by "jehovah".... http://liberalgeek.com/content/end-near-children-are-burden-jehovahs-witnesses.
Need more proof the anti child bearing doctrine?
I'm an eye witness,

i've always wondered about this.
when a person believes they made a spiritual connection with god and proclaims themselves as anointed, how do they determine whether this person is anointed or not.
does a group of elders look at the person's spiritual resume and check off the person's pioneer stats, bible knowledge, attendance, work ethic, personality, etc and then believe in the person if they have a good track record?
I knew a sister who was a colporteur during CT Russell's reign,
(He wasn't deluded he had the Science of Pyramidology- but I digress)
She wanted to talk about her hope
She said that when she came in there was only one hope
Never needed any wonderful communion with God
Seems for others to be a sort of religious Placebo Effect
Why not
I've recently talked to Catholics who regularly have visions of the Virgin
Mary

I talked to a number of these people including D Splane about this over
the years
Standard sub psychotic religious experience
Reported by some people of all faiths
Akin to the "born again experience"
