  Attitude in Kingdom Hall vs. in church

  so, today i went to a different church than the jw's for the first time in over three years.. it is a protestant african church.

  my first thoughts: for people who are 'trapped in babylon the great (according to watchtower) these people really seem genuingly happy and sincere in their adoration for god.

  what a freedom compared to the witnesses!

  Comfort and communion

  are two things for which religion was invented

  You might think of a mother with her child when that child is frightened

  Sadly has largely been replaced as a way to control people

  Fear Obligation and Guilt are the order of the day with most Abrahamic

  religions

  an atheist (never jw) friend of mine is an rv for a jw who he is trying to deprogram.

  he started this totally on his own and just telling me about it.

  it's quite amusing what he comes up with.. point 1: why the s & m stuff with foreskins?

  in 1967 i had the misfortune of being born with a watchtower stuck in my ass.

  it took 45 years for me to realize, "hey!

  there's a watchtower stuck in my ass!

  I'm counting 43 years to when elders were hunting me down

  because loving wife (ex now yay!) turned me in as I was no longer a

  "True Believer"

  No Internet but encyclopedias and libraries,

  Saw Penton's Apocalypse Delayed but didn't peek as

  I was always trying to be good

  They drove a stake of fear into my heart as a child and it was a

  slow painful process to remove it

  Dose Wt really have that much cash.

  i realize that wt has got a wind fall of cash through various means.

  so my question is in the greater scheme of things is it really that much.

  for example let's say with all their real estate and cash on hand they are worth about $20 billion dollars.

  Pseudo history in Watchtower today 😂

  gorby went to the kh for family reasons today.. and landed right away middle in a pseudo history watchtower article.

  just that aspect of the jw belief he is so sensative about.. so 1918 and 1919 are changed with one mark of a pencil.

  the argument of change was in the past the argument of the doctrine.
