  so i went to the kh for the first time in a month, and the first brother in our congregation has grown a full beard.

  i am in a western u.s. semi-rural area in a cong with an extremely conservative and controlling elder body.

  oddly enough, it seemed like people were going out of their way to converse with him and act like they didn't notice the beard or they complimented the beard.

  My beard actually caused the CO to write a

  BAD REPORT about the CongregationTM

  after his visit

  COBE showed it to me

  They're more concerned with THIS than Bible principles

  Must have a good report from "Mother"

  Um I thought that not "stumbling" anyone was the point here

  That's right, you can't stumble appointed Bros

  Only sisters and others (sarcasm)

  My last big Org-wellian Rally, at break spotted a bearded

  fellow walking all alone

  He had a badge but was all alone

  Unusual

  He looked DFed actually

  Sad

  So I introduced myself

  We talked

  He's a tailor really nice guy

  I believe he was an immigrant

  I'm pretty sure he was looked on as a subversive

  Good thing he had a badge

  The black suited security with wrist phones would've been following him

  Lol

  I just wanted to add that

  I was not allowed to work in accounts at the convention

  I was still an MS as my beard trial was just beginning

  And in the Congregation I was not allowed on the platform

  for any reason

  Including student talks

  I might still be a little angry over this

  i went to visit my parents recently, and my mom went for the kh.

  well...she told me that the visiting speaker from "po-dunk" usa, related a factoid.

  of course it was "da troof" to her, but my demonic, critical-thinking mind started dissecting the account.

  I had elders in my house on more than one occasion

  Didn't even bring a Bible- hypocrites!

  Circuit Overseer threatened and got the BoE involved in removing me as

  an MS

  I resigned instead

  So, I wasn't allowed reading paragraphs (got sisters)

  or saying any prayers,

  I should say, before growing the beard, I went for and got the permission

  of the COBE and the Ministry School Overseer!

  NO BIG DEAL HUH?!!

  You can't reason with a JW Apologist

  But I don't have to tell you that :)

  I'm not a fan of any religion at this point

  But there is no individual application of Scripture here

  Totally regulated and enforced by the Church

  How is this Scriptural?

  This is rather (as you say) the cult of Sir Charles

  Salvation originates from his writings

  Succession through Sir Joseph

  and proceeds by means of The Synod of Cardinals

  Makes me think of another WT account

  (I used to like reading them, they'd really make you scratch your head at times :)

  This brother was doing "the work" covertly in Europe during WWII

  He was rather successful in this

  He would report to a Branch and on one occasion the Branch told him to

  preach out in the open

  He said to himself (maybe to them) that this is NOT a good idea but

  He too was obedient "to Jehovah"

  He was immediately arrested and thrown into prison for years,

  So the message here is what?

  I guess: Be obedient to Jehovah and you will be blessed?

  Really strengthened my faith (sarcasm)
