"Only Witnesses demonstrate Christian Love"

so a couple of nights ago i was speaking with a relative and we began talking about the organization.

i had to asked her "why do you believe that this religion is the correct one?

" they stood quiet for a second but then said that they view and feel genuine christian love, a type of love that is spoken about in the bible.

"Christian love" is all embracing, it's not a touchy feely entity that exists within a cult like organization, I think that a band that looked out for one another in the Nazi camps is admirable, I think that the example of Catholic nuns who risked their lives rescuing Jewish children during this period is immeasurably more Christlike, that is, in harmony with the teachings of Christ, they could have concerned themselves with simply "loving" other Catholics, JWs were curiously absent from such activity, This argument will have no effect on any JW who wants to believe their own rhetoric, touchy feely warm sensations go a long way, as does one sided propoganda

my grandfather died refusing blood.

i've since come to the realization that many jws have no other opportunities or options when it comes to leaving the cult.

Where else can I go? Reality, The world of education, home ownership, life insurance to protect your loved ones and yes, old age and death, and you know what, you don't have anything better, and if you feel that delusion is better, well you run with that,

i am pimo but attended the r.c yesterday for family pressure reasons.

a "sister" i've not seen for a while told me her husband is overjoyed because a man he called on recently in the field service suddenly told him he wanted to attend the r.c.

the unusual thing is, this man is a millionaire having built a property portfolio.

I'm reminded of one of Jesus' teachings/illustrations regarding "a rich man, the Kingdom and 'the eye of a sewing needle' " Oh well, maybe Jesus was wrong as well regarding hypocrites, lol, I know how frustrating it is talking to those who so easily reject/ignore things that they don't like,

ah yes the convention is approaching.

wife is squirreled away with her wt books, her laptop and the tablet thing ..even at meals.. conversation is a word or two and not often.

spoken to.. doesn't answer.. and on return it will be grumps on for at least a week.. anyone else know this phenomenon?.

Question for those who went to the RC

i'm just curious with all the happy clapping that is now going on with the singing at the conventions.

what has been the reaction to it with the r&f.

has anyone ever commented that it reminded them of a pentecostal revival meeting.

Was just remembering playing with one of the "Theocratic Orchestras" In rehearsal I was caught tapping my foot, not sure if the conductor knew it was me or not but told the orchestra that "tapping was the musical equivalent of sinning against the spirit" I assume he's spinning in his grave right now,

JW Parents and kicking out their children

is it a common practice for jw parents to kick their children out of the home, if the child doesn't want to be a jw.

(even though their not disfellowshipped they will still get kicked out for not going to meetings etc.??).

do other religions encourage kicking family members out this as well?

Also, in regard to the question on whether jw parents are showing conditional love in kicking them out, they have been brainwashed (by use of videos recently) that such shunning is actually SHOWING CHILDREN A TYPE OF TOUGH LOVE!
