  Did you participate in a Drama?

  i am bringing this up because even it was a lot of work, for the majority of the friends this was a rewarding experience.

  camaraderie, joking, costumes, props and when the time came the celebrity status of being in the drama.. back in the 50s and 60s, conventions could be as long as 8 days and from about 1966 the dramas became an integral part of the program.

  we had one per day and the brothers looked forward to their presentation.

  Yes, I directed 4 dramas. They were very time consuming however I did enjoy the experience.

  Thinking back though I will say it was more about my ego than anything else, as are many of the parts on a DC level.

  Very happy to be done with all that.

  Should I stay or should I go?

  hello all, i love reading all of your experiences, and trials and tribulations ( isn't that very jw'ish)?

  while most of my life experiences have almost nothing to do with jw's, as i was never baptized and never believed( in the bible) past the 5th grade, it makes me feel good to contribute a post or two here, i tend to go off on subjects that are probably not very jermaine to the main subject of this site.

  i do really enjoy all of your comments and the time and effort simon and the other moderators spend to make this a truly inspiring site.

  Midweek meeting

  almost two months into the change in format of the mid week meeting from the school and service meeting format to the christian life and ministry (clam) format.

  in my congregation, seems attendance is down 10-15% over the normally low attendance for the mid week meeting before the change.

  some indicate that the meeting under the clam format is very "intense"...you really need to study and research to be able to participate or get anything out of the meetings.

  Did you get " Counseled " about the Music you Listened to While you were a JW ?

  from the time i was a small boy - i loved rock n' roll music.

  beatles, rolling stones, led zeppelin, hendrix.

  i started getting slighted for the music i listened to as i lay in my bedroom listening on headphones to led zeppelin's song " black dog " at age 14 with my elder dad looking suspiciously at me as i'm rocking out .

  Is this a true statement? Elders that are DF will be reinstated much quicker than the average publisher.

  back in the early 70's there was a brother, well known in the circuit did the no no with.

  a few of the young sisters in the congregation.

  he was df and the word, he would never be.

  NOT TRUE. I can speak from my personal situation.

  Hell must have froze over because after 19 months of never missing a meeting and groveling as well as 4 requests for reinstatement , I was approved.

  Then 10 months later I walk away and have never looked back.

  All took place within the past 8 years.

  under the freedom of information act, this guy has tax returns showing where your money goes, where it is invested, companies like northrop gruman, monsanto, cigarette and porn peddlers, and we thought we where giving money to god!

  i am quite sickened to discover i was giving money to the watchtower to invest in arms manufacturers..

  Some responses only reveal disdain that has been blinded what ever truth may be.

  Yes the Borg is out for money. No it is not run by "God" Yes it is putting out on the streets many who have given

  their best years as I have to them.

  However, If we take info such as this video as truth that the WBTS invests in Phillip Morris stock or audits any and all trusts would be a mistake.

  Lets fight them on the facts. We have plenty of them!

  Trump / Palin are full of miss stated BS. We can only build on truth.

  Hey everyone.

  As much as I dislike the WBTS , I also dislike miss stated info. This video and tax return is from a private family that has created a trust fund to pass to the WBTS at some future date.

  This is not an IRS form filed by the Borg.

  Just saying. I have had many JWs and Elders lie about me and misrepresent what I have said and done in the past 5 years. Lets try to get it straight.

  As soon as we show miss stated facts to the few still in that we would hope to help, their friends and Elders can show we miss stated something just makes it harder the next time.

  i was once a person who believed in god destroying 7 billion people so a few people could live in paradise.. when the penny finally dropped and i realised what as a jehovah's witnesses i was really praying for , it made me feel sick.

  what is attractive about a person that prays for this world to end .

  i was ashamed to have been a witness deeply ashamed .

  Many of us here were born into this sick thinking. Our parents hopefully thought it was in our best interests to believe that way.

  Yet how grateful we are to now truly know "the truth"

  Many of those million we wished death upon are wonderful people. People who love and care for others. People who have helped many of us pass through into the light of being free.

  When ever I read post like yours it reminds me of the loved ones I have lost by expressing my disagreement with the way I once believed. I still love them. And now I have love and empathy for countless more.

  Amen to that Simon!

  I use this site to try and keep up to date on the WBTS. I put over 50 years of my life believing it all and now enjoy being out yet staying up to date. This site for the most part does that.

  Not to listen to people rant and rave.

  Yogapants,

  The WBTS did and has received high zoning on all of their properties throughout the USA. They have also reached out to 1000s like me to fly out and work on these properties for free. Taking time and money away from our businesses and families. Now they are selling these improved properties for profit.

  Plowing a street or picking up trash is nothing in the scheme of things.
