I wonder if the new inner policies of the Watchtower are to intimidate "apostates". -

Sometime ago I wrote here in this forum about the case of my sister, who decided to stop attending the meetings because she realised that the Watchtower Society is an evil organization. This happened more than one year ago. I am not living in the same country of my sister, so I learn about her case when she calls me or when she write me through WhatsApp.
Some months ago, the elders went to my sister's house in order to invite her to a Judicial Committee Meeting for apostasy. When she told me that, I told her that she should ask the elders to write a letter to her specifying who is accusing her, and what are the charges against her. I told her that any legal judicial meeting in the world has to do that before. Of course, when she asked them for that letter, they refused to do so, and they said to her that Jehovah's Organization doesn't proceed in that way, because they only have to communicate the charges orally. So, my sister told them that she wouldn't go unless they send to her a letter specifying the charges against her. So, the elders now are frequently knocking her door and approaching her in the street to insist that she must attend the judicial meeting.
I see that this is an abnormal situation, because the elders wait for her when she leaves her house to go to work so as to approach her insisting that she must be present in the judicial meeting. For instance, two days ago, the elders knocked her door at night and she refused to open it. Then, they went back in the morning when she left the house to go to work, then the elders shouted her to tell her that she has only one week to appear in the judicial meeting for apostasy. My sister was very angry because they shouted her before her neighbors, who were surprised by the threat against her.
I think the attitudes of the elders are getting extreme, so I advised my sister to go to the police office so as to denounce the elders for molestation. I don't know if the correct English word for that is "molestation". In fact, my sister lives in a latin country, so she must to do the denunciation in Spanish.
Do you think that the right way is to denounce it to the police???

Who was Jesus?
by Coded Logic inwho/what do you think jesus was?
and how did you arrive at that conclusion?

Jesus was a jew who led an apocalyptic movement. The actual reasons he was condemned are obscure. The fact is that the disciples of his disciples propagated many myths about him, which are written in the Gospels. -

The Bible is NOT Error-Free
by FusionTheism infor many christians, the bible is viewed as the 100% error-free, perfect book straight from god, where every single word was carefully chosen by god for a reason.
but, usually, when you have a discussion on the topic, these christians will end up saying that only the original copies written directly from the hands of the prophets and apostles were error-free, and all manuscript copies since then are subject to copyist mistakes and other errors.. since zero original copies are in existence, how do we know the originals were error-free?
why should we think the originals should be error-free to begin with?

....view the Bible as containing the Gospel Message of salvation, and the teachings of Jesus, which are infallible, but the rest of the Bible can (and does!) contain many copyist errors, and perhaps, historical or scientific mistakes.
Jesus believed in the myth of Noah and the Flood:
"Everybody kept on eating and drinking, men and women married, up to the very day Noah went into the ark and the Flood came and killed them all" (Luke 17:27)
Jesus was a false prophet according to the Gospels:
Truly I tell you, this generation will certainly not pass away until all these things have happened. (Matthew 24:34)

David H. Splane: The “Slave” Is Not 1900 Years Old (Matt. 24:45)
by opusdei1972 ininterestingly, what the gb member david splane has actually exposed is that the christian religion is and was always a mess.
of course he is right in saying that there was no coherent spiritual guide during 1900 years, but it tells us what kind of "god" is their "jehovah god".
if that "god" exists, then he prevaricated for 1900 years, and he still maintains this attitude.

...Also, note that if "Jehovah God" inspired "the Bible", he was very indifferent with respect to his Book. If that Book were an issue of salvation, why "Jehovah God" permitted so many centuries without its worldwide diffusion?. This reasoning is the key to determine if the god of the Bible actually exists. -

The Old Testament preaches an immoral religion. Also, the New Testament forces us to believe in Jesus as the only mean of salvation, otherwise all we will be destroyed or tormented in a Hell. -

Are atheists more likely to be morally good than Christians?
by FusionTheism ini have no problem saying atheists and christians are equal.. but some people seem to have the belief that atheists are more likely to be morally good, or more likely to change the world for good, than christians and theists.. but what evidence do you have to support this claim?.
if atheism is what causes people to do great positive things for the world, then why weren't martin luther king, jr., william wilberforce, isaac newton, francis collins, barack obama, mother theresa, abraham lincoln, or john f. kennedy atheists?.

Christianism begins with a false premise and a wrong accusation:
"He[Jesus] is the atoning sacrifice for our sins, and not only for ours but also for the sins of the whole world."
(1 John 2:2)
"Who is the liar? It is whoever denies that Jesus is the Christ."
(1 John 2:22)
So, Christianism tells us that whoever denies the role of Jesus as the Christ, that one is a liar. This premise is already immoral.

The moral problem of Ephesians 5:23
by opusdei1972 infor the husband is the head of the wife as christ is the head of the church, his body, of which he is the savior.
(ephesians 5:23).
if jesus is the head of the church, jesus is responsible for the many contradictions contained in the new testament.
-
opusdei1972
How much control is acceptable for a husband to impose on his wife?
Could a husband prevent his wife from cheating on him?
Could a husband prevent his wife from committing heinous crimes?
Ok, then, I would divorce. Because if my wife commits those crimes I would leave her.
I think putting the blame on Jesus for the wrong acts of those who claim to act in his name is misguided.
If Jesus is currently the head of the Church, he is in fact responsible for its crimes. But if Jesus died as any man, and had no responsibility for what his apostles preached after that, so he was a simply man whose figure was used to expand a sect of liars.
