I gotta admit, Prince is one cool dude.
Talented too - I like his songs so much I tape them off the radio ...

part 2. .
she was suspecting me that i'm no longer interested in the borg, and she was trying to get a confession.
names replaced with xxxx and yyyy.. .
'Science apart from the Bible cannot be true science...' leapt out at me and shows just how brainwashed your poor friend is.
part 1. .
she was suspecting me that i'm no longer interested in the borg, and she was trying to get a confession.
this is how our conversation went out.
'who am I? Im just an ordinary human...' and 'I have to be honest, you make my hair stand on end by your thinking'
So sad.
God or no God, we have to rely on our own thinking - if we don't, we're screwed.
If I left everything to Jehovah ... nothing would get done!
must have a look!
(sorry, no idea how to post pics).

'How to suck at your religion' - don't die for it, don't kill for it.
Hang on, that's not such a bad idea ...
i must be mad for starting this thread, but here goes: i quite like vic reeves and bob mortimer.
before you all jump on me, i realise that their humour is often childish and very hit-or-miss, to say the least.. however, when i'm in the right mood, some of their sketches are simply hilarious.. i was also wondering how british humour is received in other countries, particularly the us.. .

'I don't think some of their hunour would translate too well in the US' - I think you may be right there, cantleave.
Bob (to Larry Hagman): at this point, Larry, are you beginning to think you may sack your agent?
Larry: yes.
Bob: yes?
Larry: yes. I've done some loony shows but this is certainly the one!

this is the scuttlebutt in one of the "bethel congregations" by us.. no details as to exactly what this "faith-testing" announcement might be.. anyone else hear any of this pre-zone visit hype?.

'Our efforts have provided us with beautiful places of worship here and all over the world' - er, not quite.
There are large swathes of the globe that don't receive a 'witness'. Can you imagine knocking on doors in North Korea, Saudi or Iran? Ain't gonna happen.
Time to face facts, Gustv: WTS is a tiny, insignificant, eccentric cult who's only hope of converting outsiders is to preach at dissaffected Catholics.
That's all.
hi guys, ive finally got a copy of coc from my local library, im on page 120ish and im really enjoying it!
the thing that gets me now that im enlightened is how little the rank and file know about anything this organazation does!
everything is so secretive and covered up behind a curtain.
I read CoC online in the uni library over a period of about 5 days. Each time, I stayed until 1am!
I was shocked when I found out about the Malawi vs Mexico debacle.
I thought Ray Franz was an excellent writer. I also feel that, regardless of any faults he may have had, his views on the WTS were balanced and sincere.
He also came across as a decent person.
in another thread i raised the point " there are moderate muslims but their is no moderate islam".
now i must face the fact i have muslim friends who say they believe the koran.. well i have asked these muslim friends, if they have investigated the origins of the koran.
they have answerd " yes".
@nhah - there is a muslim girl of Somali descent in my biology class in uni.
She's a good student, always meets deadlines and sits through evolution lectures.
The fact that the majority of muslims are like this young lady gives me hope.
'any " ideolgy" is open to conversion if governments of that land give it free speech' - good point but in Britain this isn't happening.
After each Islamist atrocity David Cameron, seemingly on autopilot, repeats the phrase 'Islam is a religion of peace'.
He's starting to sound like a scratched record.
okay, tonight someone told me that one of the elders actually addressed the child sex abuse cases at the weeknight meeting this past week.
she said the speaker said that accusations are being made against the truth but that they should stand firm in the truth and that they are going to continue fighting these allegations and that all should stand firm for jehovah or some similar comments.... did anyone else hear this from the stage?.
.
When the Panorama expose was shown (2002) I was still in and I seem to remember the congregation being warned that it was a satanic attack and that we shouldn't view it.
I'm not sure about a letter from the GB to that effect. It was probably a local needs talk.
