lisa - I see you're quick to mention ages as if this would save them from having to show any sort of responsibility, nice.
They were walking around carrying hammers - I think it's safe to assume they weren't offering to put a shelf up for anybody.
i had originally thought that making the rules clear about what was and wasn't going to be allowed when discussing the michael brown verdict that we'd be able to avoid some of the unpleasantness that surrounded the subsequent trayvon martin trial discussions.. michael brown verdict discussion policy.
i had hoped that once the evidence came out there would not be as many people promoting opinions that contradicted it.
unfortunately, that appears to have been naive of me.

lisaBObeesa - it seems the only racist people we know for sure re. Ferguson are the group of black 'protesters' who beat a white Bosnian immigrant to death using hammers. Please see EndofMystery's thread.

Michael Brown verdict discussion policy - take II - is that take two or take eleven, Simon?
a scandal is brewing in the uk.
for many years gangs of asian men engaged in rape and torture of young girls who were in the "so-called" care system.
it is believed there were around 1,400 victims in north west england, focussed on the town of rotherham.. if reports are to be believed, social workers, police and the cpc knew it was happening and everybody failed to act for one simple reason.
A fair question, FadeToBlack, but if by 'people investigating this' you mean the establishment - police, judges, politicians - then surely the former.
It will no doubt be ordinary people like me and you who run the risk of decapitation.
They're scared of being called 'waaaycists'
as part of my deconversion catharsis, i have been building a(nother) website to highlight some of the more ridiculous jw beliefs.
im a looong way from done, but i wanted some early feedback on one article: dinosaurs.
http://www.jwbeliefs.com/dinosaurs/.
Sorry, I'll try and answer the OP in a serious, sober fashion.
According to what I've read at JWN whilst lurking the WTS believes the dinosaurs were created by God to:
1. act as kind of earth-moving equipment and fertilise the soil;
2. provide coal as fuel for humankind (even though my lead lecturer's field of study is the microphytobenthos of lakes and esturies - she maintains that what is put into cars is largely the result of dead diatoms).
The above 'reasons' seem to work with dinosaur genera such as Diplodocus, Brachiosaurus, Triceratops and Stegosaurus (all herbivores that no doubt produced huge amounts of faeces - cf. cows, horses, elephants) but don't take into account smaller, carnivorous genera such as Velociraptor, Coelophysis, Troodon, Ornitholestes, or the two clades of pterosaurs represented by Dimorphodon and Pteranodon.

What do they believe? - I don't know but I'm sure they think Jurassic Park was a great film.
Who wouldn't want a baby raptor in the new system?

I feel race came into play after the shooting - and who were being 'racist' in your opinion, Paralipomenon?
i have met many who i call " jehovers witnesses untill the day they die".
and i think one of the main reasons is jehovers witnesses do not wan't to change their living conditions.. i have reasoned that my motivation to awaken was i wanted to change my living conditions.. this motivation made me an enemy to watchtower indoctrination, which i now saw was blocking my energies for achiving my personal goals.
the " watchtower club" had now become my enemy.. i was now able to question the reationalism of watchtower doctrines, and i saw free discussion was not toletated.
Excellent OP, nhah.
The desire to improve my job propects led to me finally throwing in the towel re 'the truth' - I was not happy being stuck in dead-end jobs and the 'New System' being continually just around the corner just did not wash.
Although I'm no longer a JW, I'm sure the experience myself and most if not all exJWs had living under the WTS will stay with us, in some way, the rest of our lives.
It hasn't changed my living conditions yet. But as long as I graduate with a decent degree (my lecturers feel I can attain an upper 2:1 or even a first, and I'm on course to do just that) then I'll be able to earn a decent wage doing something a) I like, and b) I'm quite good at.

Kate - I understand why you're taking your position on this thread, in addition to your unfortunate personal circumstances.
You seem to completely disregard race, ethnicity and culture (99 times out of a hundred a very good thing) but I tend to be critical.
You, therefore, come across as a nice person (I'm sure you are) whereas I come across as a bit of a b*****d (it's true - I am).
I really do hope that you and your family get the help you need and that your ex and any negligant police and social services get properly punished.
Take care
LUHE

Kate - I meant every word of those sentences that you've quoted.
The Rotherham case is not more important to me than your situation, but the details of that case are very noteworthy.
LUHE, you haven't got a clue of the bigger picture - you're probably right.
Rotheram is more important to you, and it's just a drop in the bucket - you call the thousands of abused Rotherham girls a drop in the bucket? Where's your fellow feeling?
you're so easily led by fundamentalist nonesense that sensationalises Muslims issues where there is none - nonsense. There are big issues with multiculturalism and Islam.
