The POTUS does set the temperature on many issues - but he didn't say, 'hey Joe Blow, shoot up a bunch of immigrants!'

I think it's just as well to point out that Trump condemned the shootings as cowardly and said he stands with the people who live in that particular town.
One of the shooters was killed by police, the other is in custody and will likely face the death penalty.

Genuine question
by The Fall Guy inare we about to experience very dire problems regarding male/female toilets?.
the reason i ask this question is that a very good friend (catholic, not jw) has just returned from ny and told me that he saw a public toilet which said the toilets were gender neutral and if you felt more female but you were a guy, then use the female loo, and vice versa for women who felt like a guy.
is this going to give free licence to pervs/voyeurs?

To center on one group, transgenders, as being the only ones of those who would conceal their appearance too prey on people, as being the majority of those types of predators, is setting yourself and those you love up for a bad surprise - you've made a mistake, there, Blondie. The same mistake people on FB made about me.
I don't think transgender people are any more likely to be sex offenders than cisgender people.
My concern is that rapists, sex offenders - cis or trans, doesn't matter - might take advantage of a situation that allows trans-women (biological males) into the ladies' restrooms.
As it stands, as long as a person born male says he's a woman, he can use the ladies' restroom. Such a person doesn't even need to have an operation to remove the offending penis and testes. He can be a pre-op trans-woman.
Now, that's what I'm concerned about. An opportunist rapist who's really cis could claim to be a pre-op trans-woman.
Women who share these kinda concerns mustn't be dismissed as irrational. They're being perfectly rational, actually.
Do you get where I'm coming from now?

I would not go into a woman's restroom if I were a man, ever. But I would expect that restroom facilities would be provided that allowed me to keep my daughter safe - your daughter would be safe from sexual predators if biological males were banned from the ladies' restroom.
As for kid-knapping, well, that's something that I haven't thought about.
But it makes sense to me that fathers make sure they can accompany their sons in the gents' and mothers do likewise with their daughters.

If minority groups expect their rights, why shouldn't the majority be treated equally? - the issue, as far as I can tell, is that we have trans-activists, a noisy minority-within-a-minority, loudly asserting their rights. Anyone who disagrees is a transphobe and a bigot.
Trans-activists don't represent trans-people (nobody elected them!) and don't want to talk to anyone else, especially ordinary women who have their concerns our OPs touch upon.

I would be worried if I was a father to let my daughter go into a public restroom full of women without me - but if you went in, you as a male might be a concern for at least some women in the ladies' restroom.
We don't sit down and have discussions. Trans activists seemingly would rather call people transphobes than sit down and have difficult discussions. I hope this trend changes.

Yes, I started a thread about something similar.
Rapists are dangerous opportunists.
I'm not sure what the data show, or even if we have data.
I've had a discussion about this on facebook with some soy-boy type.
Some women have genuine concerns and I feel that these women and trans-women need to have discussions. Such concerns are perfectly rational.
PS -my topic title is 'Some questions for you posters on a controversial topic' - it's my second most recent OP. I don't know how to link it.

Weird Jehovah’s Witnesses
by minimus inis it my imagination or are most witnesses weird, odd, and “different “?
it seems every congregation has a couple of weirdo elders, pioneers and ministerial servants.
and then you see those witnesses who attend meetings but most people seldom associate with them because... they are eccentric..

Ok, I'll be honest here ... I was someone who joined the JWs, got baptised and, looking back, I was weird. XD
I think I still am XD
I'm guessing JWs don't have a monopoly on weird people, but I was definitely JW and definitely weird at some point.

If You Criticize A Person of Color Are You A Racist?
by minimus inseriously, it’s getting to a point that you can’t make a negative comment about someone without being charged as a racist, homophobe or sexist!
if you criticize a female, you are obviously sexist.
if you criticize someone who happens to be gay, you must hate homosexuals.

If you were saying he should 'go back to where he came from' because you think it is simply better to send all criminals back to their country of origin - the guy deliberately tried to run people over in the street.
Can I just say 'go back to where you came from'? Do I have to explain my statement?
What if someone else called me racist for telling him to go back to where he came from? They won't believe me when I tried to explain that I don't hate his skin colour, I hate his actions. What then?
... because that's the situation we find ourselves in today, in 2019. That's why Min started this OP.
