i have been sad to see so many groups and individuals say that the cause of these events are the mental status of the shooters.

i have looked over the backgrounds of these shooters, and few had medically identified mental health issues.

it is too easy to think that people shoot or kill other people because they are mentally ill.. actually, many or most people with real mental illnesses are most likely to be the victims of others.. i have been a volunteer with the organization called nami (national alliance of mental lillness) for 25 years now.

So how many mass stabbing killings are there? - I don't know. But what I do know is that UK has a serious problem with knife crime but banning knives for everyone would be an outrageous, moronic assault on liberty.

Public safety overrules a stupid ass 200 year old law - I get what you're saying but you've not really addressed my question, which was ... why should at least some types of guns be banned for everybody, when it's only a tiny minority of gun users who go on shooting sprees? Surely there are better ways of dealing with this problem?

Here's a point: why should any guns be banned for everyone when it's only a tiny minority who go on shooting sprees?

Why should the responsible people who own guns legally and use them responsibly be in any way affected by the minority criminal element?

Here in the UK we have a serious knife problem, with people getting stabbed in the street.

But the majority of people don't get involved in this sh!t and are still allowed to buy and own knives. It would be dumb to ban knives, right?

assault weapons have no place in the hands of anyone - so how is law enforcement gonna deal with shooters, terrorists and other dangerous individuals?

i was in full time service for six years including bethel.

once i got out of bethel, i figured i had already given them six of the best years of my life (ages 18-24) working as a slave/drone in their factory, so i rationalized that i had given them enough... so over the next 27 years i would say maybe $200 bucks is it.

i think their whole "voluntary contributions" idea is biting them in the ass, because over all jehovah's witnesses are a cheap group people with a few exceptions.

A certain segment of people don't seem able to cope with any form of hardship (lack of constant praise) without lashing out and hurting others. They have never been taught any accountability - everything in their life has been declared not their fault or out of their control. Anti-social behavior is "treated" with drugs instead of consequence and some work ethic to teach them any sense of purpose and achievement. - yep, this is the naked, unvarnished truth. But the truth sometimes hurts, so expect a few down-votes.

the truly mentally ill are rarely dangerous - yes, I think I agree. My mum was a manic depressive. She had to take Lithium tablets to be 'stable', as it were. Once or twice she refused to take them. She never was violent, or a danger to herself or others.

'So-and-so wouldn't harm a fly' - that phrase was made for my mum.

Weird how the Democrats are perfectly fine in making slurs against the mentally-ill in order to avoid an honest, open discussion about mass shootings and terrorism.

it may be that evolution needs to be modified in unexpected ways - good point, but note that scientists argue over how evolution happened. Not whether it happened.

The "Hate Crime" mob stirring things up again!

staff in a takeaway were offended by two lesbians' full-on kissing and expressed their opinion about the behaviour.

the lesbians complained to police that a "hate crime" was committed.. homosexual or heterosexual - do it in private, it's not a spectator sport or a public statement.. minority groups can invoke police action if they are "offended," but society in general cannot do likewise.. why has "being offended" been turned into a hate crime in the uk?

who is pushing this agenda?.

what would happen if I as a straight white (ish), male, rang the rozzers and reported (insert a minority group), for being racist or sexist - you would probably get charged for wasting police time. They might take a closer look at your finances, your social media comments, etc., anything to try and get something on you.

Here's another question: what would happen if a member of one minority group goes to the police with allegations of racism or sexism against a member of another minority group?

Anybody can invoke police action. It's up to the police to determine if action is warranted - but minorities and all hate crime incidents are a special case. If someone alleges racism, homophobia or sexism then police MUST follow it up.

That's kinda what this OP is touching upon: super-special members of minorities are treated super-special.

I think it may be good at this point to make a brief mention of the attitudes and actions of believers in divine creation and those who accept evolution: centuries ago before Darwin, most people believed in divine creation. If anyone dared to speak against this, there would be a good chance that they'd be killed for blasphemy.

In the West today, most people accept evolution, with a minority still believing in divine creation. But the evolutionists haven't burnt anyone at the stake.
