The real Dracula?

i'm a bit of a horror fan - i love horror movies and the novel dracula by bram stoker is a pretty good read - especially the first four chapters, with jonathan harker being in dracula's castle.. i've heard before that stoker based count dracula on a 15th century voivod (prince) of wallachia who went down in history as vlad the impaler - apparently, he was extremely barbaric and cruel, as his name suggests.. vlad's father was also called vlad.

daddy vlad was apparently part of an order of crusader knights, the order of the dragon.

this order was formed to protect christian europe against muslim ottomans/turks.

I liked the first and third episodes (no 1 was in Dracula's castle and no 3 was in the present day).

I thought the middle episode, with Dracula on board the Demeter, was a little weak.

But, generally speaking, the series was good.

when we were jws , we had to be so careful that we didn’t stumble anyone.

are you comfortable saying that you don’t agree with someone or something even if it appears you are in the minority?

I'm not afraid to express my opinion on this forum or even on facebook.

The worst I've had is someone on FB doxing me and contacting my old uni because I said that cis women and trans women should talk out their differences re trans-women (biological males) using the ladies' toilets.

However, I would be careful about publically expressing my opinions face-to-face, out in the street.

The best character is the woman that plays Van Helsing - yes, she's good.

I bought the dvd 2 weeks ago.

I also thought Claes Bang was good as Dracula.

I liked the Castle set, too.

It was pretty good over three episodes.

and no, it wasn't muhammad ali.. by most objective measures, the greatest heavyweight champ of all time was a guy called joe louis.. he reigned for nearly twelve consecutive years (june 1937 - march 1949) and made a record 25 successful consecutive title defences.

since 1949, every heavyweight champ has tried to break or even match this record.

all have failed.

After 3 and a half years of inactivity, Ali was hardly “prime” against Frazier - yeah, I've heard this lots of times.

Before Frazier, Ali had two tune-up fights against top contenders who had similar styles as Joe - Jerry Quarry and Oscar Bonavena. Ali beat both, and had hundreds of rounds sparring in the gym. His weight for Joe was a trim and ready 215 lbs. Ali fought Joe in March 1971 and had recently turned 29 in January 1971.

No excuses - Ali was as good as he could be, but lost.

Generally Speaking Do You Trust Your Government?

as a us citizen, i am usually a bit skeptical of what comes out of the mouths of government officials.

often they may speak the truth but i’m not convinced of whatever they are saying as being 100% true.

do you believe your government implicitly?

Generally speaking, I'm very wary of trusting my own government and foreign governments/authorities.

Apparently, Finland have been having a bit of a problem with rapes and sexual harassment recently.

luckily for me, i'm not interested in marvel at all - i never read the comics as a kid; i haven't seen any of the films as an adult.. but, i still think some of their new characters are worth mentioning.. here are two: snowflake and safe space.

no, i'm not kidding.. here's a little vid by a youtuber called just some guy.

he's a keen comic reader and loves that kinda stuff … but not the latest characters.. he's spliced clips of ricky gervais laughing his ass off with an interview with marvel writer and balding, bespectacled beta male, daniel kibblesmith.. enjoy!.

When you see the four characters together at the beginning, Trailblazer (aka LandWhale) is white; when you see her in isolation, she black, lol.
