The Jews killed Jesus - this is ridiculous.
Jews living today obviously have nothing to do with this.
Blaming people alive to day for what their distant ancestors may have done is just crazy.
jews have been vilified for centuries!
they were nomads looking for the promised land.
they have been nearly exterminated and yet they are still in the middle east as well as a brotherhood throughout the world.

so, we've recently had local elections across the uk on may 6.. mayoral elections, elections for councillors, and the hartlepool by-election.. labour did pretty well in wales, the snp did well in scotland, and the conservatives killed it in england.. hartlepool, a city that's been labour for 50 years, voted in the tory candidate.
hartlepool voted for brexit in 2016 (70%) and the labour leader, keir starmer, thought it was wise to offer up a labour candidate who is a kent-born remainer.
labour has seriously lost touch with its voter base, that base being traditional working class people.. it is now a party for students, social activists and the perpetually-offended, and trendy self-hating middle class people.. labour will continue to get its ass handed to it in elections until it actually starts listening to ordinary people, the voters.. and ordinary people aren't interested in woke nonsense such as preferred pronouns or taking the knee.. there has been much labour naval-gazing recently following the elections but i'd be surprised if anything is learned.
What you describe being pro-labor, pro-regular people, pro-free speech and pro-business is rather conservative - this is the issue.
Labour's working class voters are basically small-c conservatives. The Labour elite sneers at these people, even openly calls them racists, then expects them to vote Labour come election, lol.

@Phizzy - the Labour party was founded to take care of the traditional working class, hence the name 'labour'.
When was Labour's last leader who connected strongly to the traditional working class or was working class himself?
Keir Starmer - Islington lawyer.
Jeremy Corbyn - grew up in a posh house and went to grammar school.
Ed Milliband - son of left-wing intellectual and studied PPE at Oxford.
Gordon Brown - not really working class.
Tony Blair - went to a posh Scottish boarding school (Fettes) and studied jurisprudence at Oxford.
most every state has a plan to get back to normalcy.
many countries also are ready to get their citizens on the road to recovery.. where does this leave the witnesses?
will they ever go back to house to house ministry?
JWs and normal activities, lol.
i first saw this film when i was 11. i'm not gonna lie, the prosthetic make up on jeff goldblum used when he was becoming a fly/man mashup kinda scared me.. it's a film that i own and have seen many times.
out of all the cronenberg films i've seen, this one definitely stands out for me.
i think it's cronenberg's masterpiece.. the plot is as follows: scientist seth brundle is trying to make teleportation possible, and meets a female journalist (ronnie quaife) who is keen to get the scoop.
@Brock Talon - yep, agree.
For body horror, it's The Thing (1982) and The Fly (1986) all the way.

"Scanners" is another good one of his - yes, it's a good moive.
I also like Videodrome. The fact that it features video cassettes so prominently kinda dates it but it's still good.

What does a hard left Corbynite stand for - the erasure of Israel to 'liberate Palestine'; trans-women allowed to use the ladies' toilets and compete in women's sports; £20 minimum wage; reparations to be paid to people alive today who are keen to cash in on the suffering and misery of long-dead people; underage children to be allowed puberty-blockers and hormones; the UK to dismantle its nuclear stockpile; the UK and The West not to kill ISIS/Al-Qaeda terrorists even if possible to safely and clinically do so; systemic racism to be fought and The Patriarchy to be dismantled … I'm sure you get the idea.
what a trendy metropolitan supporter of Starmer please ? - I don't know, because I don't know what Starmer himself stands for.
And is there a group in the middle of these ? - yes, but increasing numbers of this group are switching to voting Tory, lol.

The plot is as follows: scientist Seth Brundle is trying to make teleportation possible, and meets a female journalist (Ronnie Quaife) who is keen to get the scoop. They fall in love when Brundle agrees to let her document his work. A fly gets in one of the teleportation pods as Brundle is trying to become the first human to be teleported. Brundle and fly get fused at the genetic level ('BrundleFly') and the scientist gradually changes physically and mentally, with horrific results.
Cronenberg initially trained as a doctor before dropping out of his medicine degree to pursue his passion of film making. A lot of Cronenberg's early films have body horror in them, and The Fly (1986) is no different. I haven't seen the original Fly film (the 50s one) but this 80s remake/reimagining gave Cronenberg a chance to take the body horror to the next level.
Several scenes stand out: particularly the arm wrestle scene, and the confrontation between a degraded Brundle and editor Stathis Borans (Ronnie's boss), with Brundle vomiting powerful enzymes on parts of Borans's body, similar to the feeding mechanism of flies.
The acting of Goldblum (Brundle) and Geena Davies (Ronnie) is fantastic. They really sell you the idea of a young couple in love because, well, at the time they were a young real life couple.
I highly recommend this film. You'll need a strong stomach to watch it, but it's great.
israel retaliated and some are accusing israel of an “act of terrorism”.
evidently these rockets are trying to get to tel aviv but the dome is getting overwhelmed.. i wonder if the usa and other nations will come to israel’s defense..
It is true, of course, that the Palestinians never had an independent country. For 400 years (1517-1917) Palestine was under the rule of the Ottoman Empire. Prior to that, it was always under the rule of some other Middle East power - yes, this was basically my point.
When pro-Palestinian people talk about 'occupation', I agree when they're referring to Israel's audacious land grabs in the West Bank (stealing Palestinian land). Trouble is, the same people also talk about 'occupation' when referring to the existence of Israel as a legitimate country, with the implication that the entire state of Israel is one big land grab from Palestinians. And this is not true, because Palestinians never had an independent country of their own.
interesting video from the critical drinker.. his thesis is basically this: movie antagonists used to be well-written, but nowadays they suffer from poor writing and the shoehorning in of identity politics.. he makes an interesting comparison between darth vader and kylo ren.. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vnrp7skzogk.
