"Statistics prove that rates of violent offending for trans identified males remain the same as the general male population." - it would be interesting to see the rates for sexual abuse, and what proportion of trans inmates are in there for sex crimes.

Common sense on Jockland's gender Bill
by LoveUniHateExams innicola sturgeon's daft plan to introduce a gender bill which allows anyone aged 16 and over to legally change gender without a doctor's diagnosis of gender dysphoria has rightly been stopped by pm rishi sunak.. under the rules of devolvement, the uk government can overrule holyrood if the pm so chooses.. lots of predictable howling form the scotch nuts, with ridiculous claims that rishi is trying to organise a fight with holyrood.
of course, it's actually the other way round - the snp has been trying to pass this gender bill in order to drive a wedge between scotland and the rest of the uk.. sensibly, rishi has pulled rank on sturgeon and stopped her nonsense.. nicola sturgeon needs to know her place ....

Nicola Sturgeon's daft plan to introduce a gender Bill which allows anyone aged 16 and over to legally change gender without a doctor's diagnosis of gender dysphoria has rightly been stopped by PM Rishi Sunak.

Sensibly, Rishi has pulled rank on Sturgeon and stopped her nonsense.
Nicola Sturgeon needs to know her place ...

@Nikolaus - that fine gentleman is South African-born Angus Stewart SC, a solicitor who practices in Australia.
If you've not heard about the Australian Royal Commission (ARC) into the response of religious groups in relation to child abuse then I suggest you check it out.
Another name to remember is Peter McClellan. He is a retired judge now but Justice McClellan was active in 2015/16 when the ARC investigated hundreds of cases of unreported child abuse within the Ozzie JWs.

Yeah, I remember all the anti-Catholic stuff from the late 80s/early 90s.
In particular the stuff about paedo priests abusing the choir boys.
Funny that the WTS has gone quiet about that ...

Is it Logical To Beleive In A Creator - GOD ? In This Scientific Age ?
by smiddy3 ini don`t think so .
hasn`t science ,astronomy ,time , .....proven it an illogical beleif ?.
with the information about this solar system and it`s planets ,other stars and their planets that we have information about ,and the fact that no god has ever revealed him/her self in any shape or form 'there is no evidence that a creator / god has ever existed.. except in the minds of humans who want to control a section of humanity .. the fact that religions rely on "you have to have faith" to beleive in a god ,surely is a cop out.. i look forward to your comments .. and a happy new year to you all..

@Smiddy - you're right - there is no evidence for the existence of God.
But science cannot really comment one way or the other re the existence of God. How would scientists go about collecting data for a being that is meant to be invisible and which lives in a different 'world' (heaven)?
It's up to religious people to establish God's existence, something they haven't done.
Re creation/intelligent design - it is illogical to believe in this because all the evidence suggests humans evolved from a type of ape at least 200,000 years ago. So we can say with some certainty that the Adam and Eve story is bullshit, but not necessarily the existence of God.

Andrew Tate on the news
by slimboyfat ini hadn’t heard of this guy, andrew tate, until a few days ago, when he was mentioned on novara media (which is practically the only news i watch).
then i saw a clip with him where he explained why he moved to romania: he said he ‘likes romania because the police are corrupt and you can pay them off’.
(practically a direct quote) i thought to myself at the time that sounded a bit complacent!

@Nic - I used the words 'bigot' and 'retard' but I didn't say who was which.
Perhaps it's Greta who's the bigot and Tate the retard.
Better now?

'The guy is strangely cartoonish in his villainy' -
Although, to be fair, Greta Thunberg is cartoonist in her heroism, I fancy.

Let The Right One In (novel)
by LoveUniHateExams inso, i've already posted stuff about the 2008 film of the same title, directed by tomas alfredson.. i rate that film very highly, so i thought i'd treat myself over the xmas holidays with the novel by john ajvide lindqvist.
the book is a lot darker in some aspects - the film sensibly tones down the paedophile desires and exploits of haakan, the girl vampire's carer.
nobody wants to see that kind of stuff on screen.

What makes the remake better for you?

I've not seen the remake, Let Me In (2010). I've heard a few negative reviews or comparisons with Swedish film.
But maybe I should give the English-language version a try. I heard it is basically a straight horror film, whereas the Swedish film (like the novel) is more a coming-of-age drama and romance/friendship than horror. Have I got that right?
