@Gnostic Bishop - I meant introduce a reformed Christian culture to the UK, and bin multiculturalist ideology. This would have little or nothing to do with religion, having more to do with everyday things like obeying the law, queuing, agreeing to disagree, live and let live, supporting marriage, etc.

Theists, why does God allow suffering..
by The Quiet One in..specifically, the suffering of animals.
you can talk about free will/sin/people choosing to not listen to god etc to explain human suffering being allowed.. but how can you love a god that allows animals, that haven't sinned or chosen to not have anything to do with god, to have their short lives ended in often long, drawn out, painful ways.
i could list stories i've read that would probably make you feel ill, but i'm not looking to shock anyone or start an emotional debate.

The natural world appears to be organised to maximise the suffering of animals - I'm not sure about this. Maybe the natural world is merely indifferent to the suffering of animals?
I do agree with you - the natural world, aka reality, is a huge problem for theists.

this is my first thread here.i was wondering if anybody here could help me with a question that i have.my question is this: is it always applied the rule of the "two witnesses" in cases of apostasy?
i'll put an example:if a jw is working with another jw and one of them is continuously talking about teachings contrary to the bible truth as taught by jehovah's witnesses, would the testimony of the other jw be enough to form a judicial committee?thanks!

by snare&racket inan update on my life post education..... as the governing body continue to denounce higher education, reality continues to prove their words ignorant, ill informed and blatant lies.
i am proud and astonished to say i have just been accepted for a university teaching hospital post.
i have a seriously sought after, senior house officer job in intensive care, endocrinology and clinical pharmacology.

Iran is not an Arab country either. It's Persian - this is correct. Off the top of my head, the ethnic majority is Persian, there are also Kurd, Azerbaijani (Turkic) and other minorities (there might still be a few thousand Jews - in Iran, poor b******s). There is an Arab minority in the west of the country. -

Pakistan is not an Arab country, although it is predominately Sunni Muslim and does have nuclear weapons. I'm not sure why it hasn't used them on Israel - maybe they focus on competition with India, or maybe because the Pak government is supposedly allied to the West.
Iran is predominately Shia Muslim and has nothing to do with Pakistan.
Hamas rules Gaza and is a Sunni militia/extremist group made up of Arabs.
