There are just 'scientists', that's all.
atheist scientists now agree that "elasmotherium sibiricu" lived with humans.
all they had to do was read their bible to know that.
job 39:9 “will the unicorn be willing to serve thee, or abide by thy crib?”.

try telling that to scotland's tourists and many island communities: the ferry services are dying month by month, and the two new overdue & over-budget ferries justify a serious legal/criminal enquiry.. any bunch of incompetents who can't provide a small country with a ferry service and a legally binding contract to build 2 new boats - having controlled scotland since 2007 - has no credibility in claiming they could run a country!.
Here's the way is see it:
If Scotland propose to leave the UK (with the UK remaining but being somewhat smaller), then that's a matter for the Scottish electorate.
If, however, Scotland proposes to leave and break up the UK, then that should be a matter for the whole of the UK electorate.
From some of the conversations I've had with SNP supporters, they want to break up the UK, not just leave it. They seem to revel in the possible death of the UK. All this is driven by anti-English sentiment, even though tax payers south of the border help greatly with Scottish finances.
Rule 1: never bite the hand that feeds you.
However, if Scotland votes to leave then they should be left to leave.

The whole idea of Scottish independence is a bit of a joke anyway, TBH.
It's not really viable*, because Scottish independence would only have a chance of working if Scotland was allowed immediately back into the EU after leaving the UK. And even if that happened (which is not guaranteed), what currency would the New Scotland have? Euro?
*Independence from England would mean that Scotland won't be able to suck at the teat of Westminster, i.e. no more Barnet Formula, no free eye tests, no more free uni, etc. Also, you know all that oil Scotland supposedly has? Well, there might not be as much of it as the SNP claims.

This is exactly one of my problems with Lloyd’s behaviour, but he seems to be determined to advertise such objections as “they want me to be a pedo”…. What I actually want is for him to stop advocating for CSA victims as he is clearly not able to grasp the concept of consent which is a fundamental issue of CSA
^^^ Yeah, this is it.
I don't call Lloyd a rapist or a pedo.
All I'm saying is, when it comes to using sex workers, people like Lloyd can't be 100% sure that a) the sex workers are above the age of consent and b) that the sex workers aren't forced into it.
any opinions are just speculation, but my guess, being morbid, is that there was not a hull breach and implosion (although that would have been the most merciful fate for them), but instead the amateur level of building this thing meant that it lost power and communication and got itself tangled in the titanic's wreckage or is sitting on the actual seabed with no way to release ballast to resurface.
terrifying.
what's your gut feeling?
It looks bad.
The people on board the sub are in very serious trouble.
They'll probably run out of air and die, barring some kind of miracle rescue.
first off, i really like robert eggers and think he's a great film maker.
i really like his two previous films - the witch (2015) and the lighthouse (2019).. i saw the northman (2022) for the first time yesterday.
it's a revenge/'western' story about a viking prince who avenges the death of his father, by his uncle.

What didn't work for me was the accents that the different characters speak in. His two previous films were set in 1635 and 1890 respectively, and so the English dialects used in both were well-known, adding authenticity. But The Northman is set in the year 900 AD, during which Old Norse would have been spoken. Eggers could have gone all-in and had the characters speaking Old Norse the whole time, but for a 2 hour-plus film it would have been very difficult. Or he could have had them speaking English with standard American or British accents but that might have sounded strange. So, he chose a third way, so you have Amleth (Stellan Skarsgaard) speaking to Olga (Anya Taylor-Joy). Amleth speaks English with an Old Norse type accent, and Olga speaks with a Russian-sounding accent because the character is a Slav. It just doesn't work all that well for me, but no option would have been easy here, as explained above.
Still, gotta love Fjolnir's accent, played by Claes Bang. I guess Claes does a reasonable stab of an Old Norse accent, but at some point he must have thought to himself, 'I'm a Dane, my first language is descended from Old Norse anyway ... so screw it, I may as well say my lines with a Danish accent'. And you can't blame him, lol.
Yeah, so the mish-mash of accents distracted from the film rather than enhanced it, at least for me anyway.
The costumes and settings were very well done - knowing Robert Eggers, he probably did his research on Viking clothing, weapons, and houses.
The story was ok, the plot kinda just went along. TBH, there are better revenge films out there - The Nightingale (2018) being one such. But you do get to see Anya Taylor-Joy naked.
So, yeah, it's an ok film.

I sometimes wonder if he realises what a nasty person he is and revels in it, or if he genuinely thinks he’s a good guy - probably the latter.
As far as I can work out, the guy has zero self-awareness.

TBH, the lyrics to Lloyd's song are like a send-up of anti-theists such as Christopher Hitchens and Richard Dawkins.
Roy Devans probably thinks he's being clever and edgy, but he's really not.
All the points he raised in his lyrics have already been said by more intelligent, educated, and articulate people.

God is watching over us
He should beg for what he did
How can you say that he helped you out today
While he was killing 14,000 kids
^^^ What's the 'killing 14,000 kids' a reference to? The Watchtower's paedo and no blood policies, or something from the Old Testament?

Ugh, so Lloyd can strum a guitar and sing a bit.
What this means is he won't set the world on fire, but he will be able to do some busking in streets and shopping malls, with passers-by dropping him a few coins.
Glad to see he's found his level
