Was the Biblical Canon Directed by God?

this is a question a sincere christian may agonize over after learning that some books of the bible were rejected by certain early christian groups,while other books that did not make the canon were accepted.

also,when one realizes that so called inspired writers of the greek scriptures quote from apocrypha,that most christians reject today,one wonders if these writings that include these quotes should even be in the bible.. it is true that when it comes to the christian greek scriptures the canon has been closed for many centuries.

also, these books have been accepted by christians ever since the second,perhaps first,century.

The scrolls the Bible was taken fom was from God. But I know many parts of the Bible were changed, and some left out from the scrolls. I would say the scrolls are from God, not the Bible.

Ham had sex with his mother...

in genesis 9:22, it says, "ham saw his fathers (noah) nakedness.

" over the years i have heard many theories of waht that meant.

leviticus 18:8...20:11...and 20:20-21 says.

In Genesis 9:22, it says, "Ham saw his fathers (Noah) nakedness." Over the years I have heard many theories of waht that meant. Leviticus 18:8...20:11...and 20:20-21 says. "If a man sleeps with the wife of another man, he has uncovered the mans nakedness."

Noah put a curse on Hams son, so I would assume the child was from Noahs wife. Noah lived 400 more years after the flood, and had no other children...am I to assume he wanted nothing more to do with his wife?

My jw mum threw us out.

my brother (non-jw but became a christian 6 months ago) and i nursed my aged jw mother back to a semblance of strength over the last three weeks.. the elders were happy to pass the buck on to me, her da'd daughter and my bro.. he has been living with her for 3 months and has transformed her ill-kept home and garden and literally nursed her like a professional alone.

before i stepped in to help him care for her.

he repeatedly told her how much he loved her and was so caring, it brought a lump to my throat.. he has been going to church sunday mornings, telling her he 'was meeting up with friends' so as not to cause friction.but she knew where he had been.. we noticed a shift in her demeanour towards us (she knows i'm a church-goer) over the week-end and she started to.

The CBE is not the Bible. The KJ was written from the scrolls. Read Ec 9:5 in the KJ, or even the NWT.

You can't change a person from the religion they are stuck in. It's not that they are being bad, no, they believe they are doing what God wants. If God wants them, he will get them out. If not, there is nothing you can do. Let this be a lession. It is easy to find yourself in a false religion. Check your own religion. If it is false you will see it. Make a list of things against the Bible.

Let me start you off with one:

Hell Fire: bad people go to a hell of fire when they die. What condition does the Bible say they are in? Ecelesiastes 9:5

currently i am still an active jw with serious questions about the jw org.

i was hesitant signing up but really need as much input from the people on this forum to get a clear understanding on things.

I left the org almost 20 years ago. I left it because of all the false prophesies. They claim they Keep getting them from Gdf, but not one has ever come true.

Yes I learned much about God from the JW's. I learned more since I left, and I am very strong for Jehovah. As to the gays people. I am stright, but I did a lot of research about them. They are sinners. We are all sinners. No one can say, "Well, my sin is less than your sin." All sin is falling short of the mark.Here is a strange thing I found: Many animals are gay. Some stay together for life...you have a computer, check it out..."Animals are homosexual." So this human homosexual thing is an animal thing.

Over the years here is where that led me: The trees in the bible are all symbolic. So why are the two trees in the garden not symbolic? Who made claim they were not? Read genesis 3:15. God is talking to Satan about what he did with his seed. Genesis 3”15 was written in Hebrew, but, the word for seed was written in Greek. The writers often shifted back, and forth like that. The word was, “Sperma.” It means, child, offspring, and seed from a male. If you go to genesis 5, this shows the life of Adam. You will see his first child was Seth…where is Cain, and Able? If I could write several pages here, I could prove to you Adam, and Eve did not eat a fruit. The human family ages, and dies because it is mixed with a high , almost man like animal, ( the angels cast down) seed. We have many other things we get from that seed besides homosexuality. Do you know why we kiss on the lips? Yes, it is an animal thing. (dogs.) many think their dog is kissing them when they lick their face…not so…this is from the wolf, were all dogs are from. The wolf hunts, and kills something, and eats it where it died. He then goes back to its camp, or whatever they call it, and others smell it on them. Other dogs will now lick the face of the dog who ate the kill. What the dog is saying, “Please throw up some of it so I can eat it.”
Sin is sin. During the 1,000 year rule of Jesus, we will all become normal. Gay people, like all other sinners, are going to have to work at putting sin aside. Jesus said, “You could not be good if you wanted to.” So I assume he was speaking about all of us in this system of things.
Here is the difference between people; We are all bad, but some are evil.

Isnt prayer materialistic?

prayer is often an expression of an if-then deal that tacitly denies equal rights to the other party.

the form and essence of most prayers go like this: if you do this favor to me, i will do this (pioneering, or put in more hours in the preaching) for you.

and if not...well, then, too bad for you, god, because you didn't deliver as was clearly outlined in the contract.. this shows religion has failed in its primary duty of reconnecting (religare, latin) man with god and fellow humans; and ironically has led to numerous divisions and disunity!

Demand letter from the Governing Body to Obama

being as the watchtower and bible and tract society has been linked to the engines powering the drones.... ... and .... being as the drones are being used to kill humans, sons and daughters of the creator.... would it not be a good, proper and righteous action for the governing body to send a formal letter to the president of the united states and demand that he.... stop using drone aircraft to bomb and slaughter humans, sons and daughters of the creator of the universe?.

Jesus was saying, don't pray for what you need. He also said, "You pray, and you pray, and you don't receive...it is because you have asked for the wrong thing." That leaves the question, "What is the right thing to ask for?" Those who make claim to be servants of God, should be just that, servants. A servant will always ask, "What is it I can do for you Lord? Please guide my foot steps." Servants should be giving thanks for what God has given them, and asking for help in serving him. Everything else is wasted.

I see people praying to make thier sick cat well, a better job, etc. God is not there to serve people. He created people to serve him. Religions teach, "If you love God, he will answer your prayers." He he will only answer those that have to do with your service to him.

What's "THE END" going to look like?

okay, so its no secret that many of us are hoping to see the downfall of the wtbts (or at least a mass exodous of jws away from them anyway).

i was wondering if you had any thoughts on what this might look like?.

we all know that most every jw has their doubts, large and small, but is afraid to speak due to the illusion of unanimity and self censorship .

Russell was never a part of the WT. Russell started The Bible Students, which is still around. Rutherford was the printing end, and he broke off, took many members, and started what is now the WT. The people (today) follow the teaching of Russell...who was also off on his own trip. To be a part of the Bible Students you must follow what Russell was teaching, or they won't let you stay. same old song nad dance as the WT...they also sell Russells books.
