A thought about the convention: Anticipate Future Blessings...

one of the parts had a skit with 3 or 4 young brothers playing a game of "what i will look forward to in the new system".

one wanted a house by the beach.

what puzzles me is If jws think they have the favor of God, then why are so many is so much trouble with health and finances and so damn depressed and so lonely

and are nothing but slaves for an earthy organization?

bu2b i never thought of that! yea how boring, though once an elder said to me when we were having a conversation, in a car out in service

that God is not wasteful hes not going to destroy perfectly god buildings and roads and things.

becasue he felt the system we live in now will have to stay this way, and gradually work backwards as people are 'resurected'

in 'waves' so that we can not shock those ones with a strange world.

the flawed logic with that is how anyone who is dependant on modern technology can EVER go backwards would ever be able to, we dont think that way anymore.

Does anyone live by any Bible stuff?

this is not meant to be a slag off the bible thread.. i had a question asked me the other day and it was: 'do you live by anything from the bible?'.

i had to think about that one because i was force grown in the filthy, disgusting cult of the paedophile loving watchtower(r).. you know what?

i really don't know if i just naturally am a great bloke or if any 'nice' bits in the bible influenced me......or has western culture been influenced by the bible for good and bad?.

katewild i never personally thought any thing from the bible applied to modern day man.

i live by good principals but in todays world we seriously cant remain in the same time period as early christianity.

the do to others as myself is pretty much what we need to practice.

1914 to 2014--Has Jesus been ruling for a 100 years?

well there are several scriptures that says he was given the right to rule, he was given the power to judge, all knees should bend to him

and he told his diciples that some of them standing there would see him coming in his kingdom.

so id say when he died and went to heaven and sat at the right hand of God, he started his rule.

at least thats what i get out of it.

blood isnt a meal, but the israelites law of not eating blood was a dietary restiction, none of those laws were for anyone to pay heed to ,other than israelites

and now since jesus came fulfilled the promise, and put an end to those laws no one need follow them.

for jws to observe any old mosaic laws they are denying christ came, and died, and freed from these requrements.

if we still would have to do any 'works' to prove our faith, then why did jesus bother dieing for us?

not to mention,

there is no way on earth anyone will convince me that the using of blood to save a precious life, that is valued by God,

is talked about in the bible.

how is the kingdom, which isnt going to 'come with any stiking observableness',

in relation to christs coming? Im confused on the relationship. I always understood Jesus 2nd coming , to be for us when we die

and are resurected, because no one knows the hour... [of our death] so we always have to prove ourselves to be ready, even to our death

of being a believer of the Lord. the kingdom of the heavens, I assumed is where we will be when raised up. since the earth is not going anywhere

and jesus said youll always have the poor, and the rightous will reside forever on the planet , along with the wicked [last book of revelation]an in hebrews it says it is reserved for men to die once and after that a judgment...

and in another scripture cant recall right now, I think paul was speaking, it says i know a man who was taken up to the third heaven,... to paradise.

Watchtower Tells Us "Employers Seek JWs Only" Yet Most JW Employers Avoid Hiring JWs, Why?

here's a thought: we're told over and over how employers sing the praises of their jw employees, sometimes with a vague quote about how 'if we could only hire jws, we would as they are so honest'.

however, while some jw employers themselves may hire jw employees (usually cheap entry level positions), most don't.

in fact, many jw's in general who have businesses have a rule not to do work with jws, even those in their congregation.

well , like all propaganda and media, what comes off the platform or read in liturature is full of exagerations and lies.

my husband hired a young jw man who was a freind of my sons, he basically had to babysit him, he did not have enough

inteligence to perceive what else needed done next, and when finshing a project waited till the supervisor came over and told him what to do next.

my son seeing how slow this kid was at working told me how lazy he was.

jw's are no differnt than anyone else, its obvious. they just like to Think they are.

only in isaiah ? i think, is it mentioned in the new world translation that 'you are witnesses to me!

but all other bibles say the lord.

people after tha t time period, would not be witnesses of the God of Israel, jesus said you are witnesses of me to his apostles

yet still, WE are not witneses of him, his apostles were. what are we really witnesses to?

SO simply , we are Christains. we are not to have a name to identify ourselves with any thing else accept the name to which all knees will bend, christ jesus he who dies for us and is deserving of the honor given to him By his heavenly father.

I will never forget that my mom used to drag my hyper active little brother down the the ladies room and beat him with a wooden spoon, because at age 2 thru 5, he couldnt sit still. he would just cry himself to sleep.

my mom was a firm beiever in wooden spoons. my dad made a paddle out of wood and hung it on the wall. my brother one day,got up on a chair got it and broke it in half. he was like , 4 yrs old. lol . my brother never liked meetings and as soon as he was around 14 he refused to go to anhy more meetings, my dad not a jw agreed he did not have to go if her did not want to. somehow he wasnt on my side for that. I was guilted into going,

my mom would use sad guilt stories to get me to go.

oh, dont make jehovah sad by staying home.

oh, jehovah appreciates every effort we put forth to get to meeetings,

hey you dont know if the meeting you miss armageddon will come! and youll be out there and we will all be in the kingdom hall.

and my all time favorite,

sister so and so is handicapped, ans SHE can get to te meeting, and whats wrong with you?

Why is shunning wrong?

consider an example i often hear.

youre sitting at a dinner table.

the topic of conversation is regarding your mother.

well, do unto others as you would like them to do to you comes to mind.

lets assume there is no such thing as religion. If someone does or says something that isnt our standards, we simply choose other freinds .

but we dont slander them, and treat them like a deadly plaugue. you simply avoid them. everyone has a right to thier own opnion.

if someone tells falsehoods, were to go directly to them and ask them where they heard such a thing and why they would spread such rubbish

if they are stubborn enough not to consider our advice, then we wash our hands of the person, and were free to choose other association.

the person who has such a problem of spreading lies, and doing reckless things will eventually not have any freinds, and that alone will wake them up to the folly of thier behavior.

they will hopefully be sorry and appologize, and the humiliation of the past deeds and the lack of freindsh will be punishment enough.

like some scriptures say.

THAT is what is meant .

everyone must come to accept and realize, the bible is not what we all think it is. the men who chose what books to use

were not inspired by God, just by thier zeal to make a book that they felt man needed.

many of the original writtings of those letters books and scrolls pages were damaged ,missing and altered by copiests.

which is why we have so many translations. we will never have a whole complete book that is the pure word of God.

If such a thing even ever exsisted.

anyone can claim to be inspired, who are we to call them a liar? I was inspired to reply to his post.

people are inspired to write poetry [psalms] or inspired to move to action in a life threatening situation. so that claim is pointless.

we are to take the valuable advice from any person, confusious, to Jesus to nelson mandela.. whoever they all have personal revelations that make for great quotes. wise words. make us think. make us act in a positive way hopefully.

as a human on earth it is up to us to try our best to enjoy the life we have contribute to mankinds needs, and help others to do the same.

by doing that, we have the mind of Christ.

we need no other burden

now im going to get off my butt and go enjoy the perfect 72 degree day.
