45 Minute Bethel Video about Changes (downsizing) at Watchtower
by OnTheWayOut ini don't see this posted elsewhere, and i don't have the links besides this facebook one.. but here is a 45-minute long bethel talk about the changes at bethel including addressing the hard feelings of people who were given the axe.
basically, everything must change.
we gave remaining bethelites saturday off to do our bidding in "the field" and we give bethelites over 70 an extra day a week off (if you can find any such bethelites).

I must admit, I have to watch this video in small increments.
I have not seen it all, yet. It's horrible how they string you along, devastate your 'hopes and dreams' and then tell you it's all okay, you can still serve us in the field until you die!
WOOT!

My brother died last night
by LisaRose ini found out this morning that my brother died last night, he was also an ex jw, 73 years old and died of heart disease and kidney failure.
it was not totally unexpected, as he had been in poor health, but it's a blow, especially as i just lost another brother two years ago.
there were six of us, now only four.

I'm sorry life is not how we were told.
My wife is nearly 70. She has one younger sister, two older sisters and one older brother. They were all told they would never grow old in 'this system'.
Most of her ( my old cong ) are 60 or older, born-in's.
They are not programmed to accept or even normally mourn death.--
To all:
Enjoy the life you have and spend your most valuable possession, your time, doing the things that make you happy. That's all we can do.--

Welcome. You've come to the right place.
There is no 'one size fits all' answer.
You might start with asking your sister why she wants to go back.
Jesus clearly stated to treat others the way you want to be treated, right?
Who likes being shunned? Nobody!!To forgive. ( they DF )
Not to judge ( they DF )
To show love ( they DF )See where this is going?
If they cannot see this, you're facing an uphill battle.
When they question you on doctrine ( is the BG directed by holy spirit and leading the ORG or other crazy stuff. 1914, overlapping generations, etc ), say you don't know the biblical answer or understand.
Ask them to show you the truth from the bible. It will soon become evident that they DO NOT have the answers or the backing they claim to be loving followers of Christ.
The hard part is preventing them from 'teaching you' from the WT publications. Tell them you know what the WT says, but need to see the truth clearly from the bible alone.
Hope that helps.
Also, be patient. It may take years.

I'm getting baptized
by BlackWolf ini know i've started similar topics before but this time i'm serious.
my parents have been constantly pressuring me and after yesterday's watchtower study they asked me if i was going to be baptized this summer... and i said yes.
i probably should have thought about it more before making a final decision, but they're pretty much forcing me to do it anyway.

Mexican new GB member
by sp74bb inmore light for our ex jw members.... http://www.extj.com/showthread.php?27719-the-show-of-apple-jam-by-president-s-brother-the-accounting-chaste.
in patterson there is a group of brothers, all of them baptized after 1975, a group of them are candidates to all new gb membership, as soon as new places will be included or some members will passed away.
clear details and info tell us that a new gb will be a us citizen with mexican background.. really funny to see that we can give light to our ex jw family months before it comes public :).

Gorby says goodbye
by Gorbatchov inmy eyes for ttatt opened in 1995 with the generation change and the wt magazine stated "some witness thought that the generation started in 1914".
since 1997, with internet at low speed, i followed h2o hourglass, www.xjw.com and later on www.jehovahs-witness.net.. did a bachelor and post bachelor since then.. now, nearly completed with fading, i feel it's time to go on with my life and do some other things, spending more time with my wife abd children instead of thinking about jw topics in my head.
goal is being a better person and less grumpy at 45.... everything what could be said is already said.
