I suffered from emotional and physical abuse my whole life in the and the Cong all knew about it. Yet it was ignored and when I asked for help I got the old "Jehovah sort it out in his own due time" fob off

No! No! No! This can't be true? brexit? No!
by purrpurr init seems britain has voted to leave the eu in a move of total madness!
the markets are already in free fall and the moronic bigots who campaigned for this are celebrating the demise of our country .. i can't see how a 49-51% split can be democratic?
there is still the postal vote to come in, maybe there's hope in that?

Being Bad in the Kingdom Hall
by Funchback inwhat things did (do) you or someone you know do in the kingdom hall that was a no-no?.
i remember in the 80s when, during the meeting, three friends and i were breakdancing in the foyer.
3 out of 4 us are happily out of that organization.. as i was trudging through my fade and attending meetings, i sometimes dwelled on how much time and money i wasted during my years as a jw.

Since waking up from the Borg, I regularly go to the bathroom mid meeting and have a little pleasurable fun time by myself. Makes enduring the meetings alot easier I can tell you!
I highly recommend it ;)

Proof that Daniel was written 400 years after the events it describes and how much it gets wrong
by purrpurr ini've been studying the bible anew and have just realised that the writer of daniel gets the kings of babylon completely wrong and confused.
he says that nebuchadnezzar was succeeded by his son belshazzar .
then along comes good old cyrus the great who liberates the jews.. yet this is wrong!

I've been studying the Bible anew and have just realised that the writer of Daniel gets the kings of Babylon completely wrong and confused. he says that Nebuchadnezzar was succeeded by his son Belshazzar . Then along comes good old Cyrus the great who liberates the Jews.
Yet this is wrong! Belshazzar's father was Nabonidus who was a king unrelated to Nebuchadnezzar . Nabonidus did take off and leave his son Belshazzar as regent for many years too.
So it would seem that the writer of Daniel was either confused, uneducated and or ignorant of the Babylonian history. It also appears that the account of Daniel was written some time in the Maccabean era and not contemporaneous to the supposed events described.
The Nebuchadnezzar of the bible was succeeded by amel-marduk. Which is something you don't find in the bible . Neither do you find in the Borg's literature the indisputable fact that there are four kings inbetween Nebuchadnezzar and Belshazzar. Nebuchadnezzar the second of the bible begins reigning in 605 bc and Cyrus the great takes over (five kings later) in 539 bc. Unfortunately I am no good at maths and cannot tot up how many years there are inbetween those.

"how awful it must be to be dying as an apostate!"
by purrpurr ini heard today about a former jw/now apostate who is dying in hospital.
this information was accompanied by the comment of "wouldn't be awful to be lying there in hospital, dying as an apostate!
knowing that you have no hope!?

Personally when I am lying in hospital, dying as an apostate I will take comfort in knowing that I will become part of the cycle of life as all things are.
And what about all those awake but in jw's who are secretly apostate?

What about this as an exhuse against being DF'd?
by purrpurr inwith the many examples in the bible of jehovah taking control of someone's heart and causing them therefore to sin and do something bad... what if when discovered in a sin a jw said to the elders that it was not them that sinned... oh no!
it was jehovah who put it into their hearts to sin!
therefore they cannot be held responsible for their actions.. the elders would not be able to prove otherwise, what would they do?.

Orwell's 1984- a text book for the GB?
by purrpurr ini'm in the middle of studying 1984 by george orwell .
it's a frightening book but more so for me because it's describing the borg to the letter almost just by another name.. right down to the changing of history to suit bb doctrine, the younger generation not believing anymore but finding ways around the rules to live their own lives.
the culture of squealing on others and kids being taught to do that even to their own parents.

Interesting , is Orwell banned at all? Discouraged? I haven't seen anything in print saying that but then there wouldn't necessarily be any
